AlphaRed - Out of business

Just got the mail:

Quote:

This Morning December, 23 2008 at 9:30 AM CST, Alpha Red, Inc. entered Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. Doug Brickley of LECG was appointed the Chapter 7 Trustee. The receiver's duties are to liquidate the assets of Alpha Red and collect past due balances from Alpha Red's current and former clients.

The business will not continue. All services including power, bandwidth, and technical support will be shutdown at 9:00 AM CST on December 24, 2008, tomorrow. We will begin shutting down servers this evening around 8:00 PM CST, December 23, 2008 starting with accounts which have outstanding/past due balances.

If you have paid your bill and are current, you may contact us at [email protected] or by phone: (713) 936-2388 to delay your shut-off time until 9:00 AM CST tomorrow morning.

nice to see their sign up forms still work and accept cards...makes you wonder how much they will make keeping them up and never responding to emails

LiveDose 12-23-2008 04:49 PM

Pretty clear from that statement why they are done...

AdultEUhost 12-23-2008 04:53 PM

damn that sucks but i guess it was just a matter of time, hope people can make it in time to move their stuff

Si 12-23-2008 04:55 PM

Good bye alpha!

Iron Fist 12-23-2008 05:09 PM

i doubt that but you never know, there are a lot of hosts which can not match their pricing, including me :)

MaDalton 12-23-2008 05:16 PM

i think that answers the questions if a host can survive on 6 bucks per gig

Not a whole lot of notice, especially this time of year. I am sure there will be a few scrambling to get things moved

Had to be more than just that.. other wise they could have just raised the prices.

Paul&John 12-24-2008 04:47 AM

JimmiDean 12-24-2008 06:31 AM
