What phone do you have? Just got a Samsung Instinct...
Great phone! I have a family plan with Sprint, so the only real option for a touch screen was to drop my blackberry for an Instinct. FUCKING AWSOME phone. Very much like iphone plus force feedback keyboard that makes it feel real. Only single touch which means no turning or expanding but I don't care about that.
Only main drawback is that there is not a lot of wares for it. I did get a doc viewer for pdf, excel, and word from getjar.com, but it's not that great. Also I upgraded twice this year so i had to buy the fucker cash. Other than that, I love it. Anyone have similar phones? reviews? |
Got the Nigga Stain 5kBL with iNoggle, shit is pimp!

Dudes!
The iPhone is still the ruler of them all! I work for a mobile development company and we have every phone on the planet here at our office...and I get to play with them all!! So far, the iPhone is still the better phone...except for the obvious stuff (no MMS and copy and paste). If you can live without those features for now, then there is no better phone for the average geek. I love Blackberry's as well...but the iPhone still takes the cake for me. |
Plus the iPhone doesn't support Flash. But rumors (take those for what they are worth) suggest it's on the way.

You will get bored of the Instinct in a few days.
Should have gotten one of the Touch phones. The Diamond and Pro are the best phones available on Sprint at the moment. My hacked up Diamond makes iPhone users jealous. |

Razor V3 here and I keep buying the same phone when it brakes down (like it did 3 times).

BTW, one good thing about Sprint is the Simply everything plan..$99 mo unlimited everything all the time. Unless i buy games or tones, my bill can never be more than $99 no matter how much I use it. Other carriers have the same? |
htc touch hd.

I had the Instinct but returned it because of the lack of apps. Great solid construction & felt great in my hand but somewhat limited. Ray is right the touch screen on that phone is awesome. I did end up picking one up for my Mom because she mainly talks and does texting. She loves it.
I ended up with the HTC Touch Pro. It is a solid all around phone but the construction is crap. The battery cover is flimsy and the slide out keyboard has a very loose kind of feel. The side already has a chip in it after 2 months and I keep the damn thing in the case... Cheap plastic. Definitely not up to par for the price. As far as usability I do like having Winmo to play with. The Touch Diamond has a much better feel and construction but no slide out keyboard. It is hard to believe they are from the same manufacturer. My 2 cents... |
HTC Tilt on AT&T

Samsung Access (A827)
When my contract is up in a few months I'll probably get a better phone. |
Ive had the Instinct since July, and I really do like it A LOT. I love love love the GPS on it- far better than the garmin or tomtom, IMO.
The one thing i really dont like is the lack of apps- for me, mainly messaging apps. But I love how the text messages are threaded by name- makes it so much easier than scrolling thru 50 texts trying to find someone. The browser is awesome, larger screen and touch-vibration to let u know u clicked the link (also vibrates when u text so u know u hit the letters- can be turned off if u dont like it) I wish there was a place to store the stylus though. I end up using my fingernails b/c im afraid to lose the stylus. The spare battery and charger are great too! |
blackberry bold and iphone
|
I have the Instinct as well... but I also have the iPhone 3G... I prefer the iPhone.
|
i've got an iphone 3g (wife) and a samsung omnia (me).. while the experience is way cooler with the iphone, i've got to say the windows mobile with the omnia is pretty powerful and flexible.. love them both..

Switched from Verizon to Sprint due to price and picked up the Blackberry Curve for free. I looked at the Instinct but couldn't do many things on it.

Storm here also.... love the phone

A Nokia for almost an year but still don't know the goddamn model

Seems the big downfall is apps. However, I did find out that most J2ME apps will work on it (however the touch screen and interface to the on screen keyboard often doesn't function rendering them useless) but there are a ton of J2ME apps that do work includig games and utilities like the pdf viewer (thank god). getjar.com has a lot. That seems to be the big negative. If it had the apps that palm or blackberry has, it would be the best piece of technology I've ever seen. |
after having lots of expensive and sophisticated cell phones, many of them were too big, or too complicated to use, battery lasted too short or were easy to brake (once it slips down the floor and it's broken and needs repairs and shit), I finally found a holly grail... the most ridiculous cell phone ever - Nokia 1112. And I love it. I'm dropping it down constantly and it works perfectly, battery lasts 5-7 days, it has only minimal functions (to call, send sms, alarm, calculator and that's about it all). It's very fast and extremely easy to use. I also have Motorola v3x razor and its also very tough too, but battery doesn't that hold long, so that's my secondary phone for mostly indoor use...
as for samsung phones... they are well designed and don't "die" but have some other issues... some of models I had have very low volume speakers, on most battery lasts very short. they are "trendy" phones and their prices (at least over here) drops very fast... so I'd rather recommend you nokia or motorola... |

I also got my wife a Pink Centro, not bad. I like the palm platform for the apps. But I'm hooked on the touch screen phone. the huge screen for watching video, GPS, email, and especially the web. In fact, I'm posting this from my Instinct right now. I'm in my car.
sdfsadfsdf..................sdfsdf.............OOP s, I shouldn't drive and type. He'll live, I hope.:( |

I'm using a sprint mogul
|
I have had 3 touch phones and all are too glitchy and eventually break. Not worth it. Im waiting for the blackberry bold to come out for sprint then ill get that. My mogul for sprint sucks and the touch screen is even worse. Iv gone threw 3 of these so far in less then a year. When i saw the blackberry storm for verizon being all touch screen i almost laughed my ass off. Horrible idea.
|
I see so many people say if I do this or that my phone is just as god as an iphone... why not just start there? But i am totally addicted to mine. I have an iphone in the US and razor V8(?) in brazil. Getting the iphone in brazil too right after x-mas.
