What are the best Las Vegas restaurants?

Hey guys, going to Vegas for NYE, and looking for some kickass restaurants to try out!

So far we are considering Pearl (at the MGM) and Le Cirque (at the Bellagio).

Anything you guys recommend? Maybe some place with an amazing view? Not looking to spend more than 100$ per person unless it's REALLY worth it.

We will be there for 3 days and we are looking for 1 Chinese place, 1 Seafood/Steakhouse place and another of any category I guess (maybe a sushi place that serves chicken/steak also for the girls)

Also looking for some places to hit for lunchtime!

Let me know what you guys think!

thanks

Also looking at the Top of the World at the Stratosphere... any opinions?

Just a personal preference, but I have always loved Hugo's Cellar in the basement of the Four Queens on Freemont St. It is kind of dark and was a very popular mob hangout back in the Vegas glory days and the food is fucking incredible. It's in the $100 per person range with drinks.

Picasso (Bellagio) is excellent, and completely worth the price.

I would go fleur de lis in the mandalay bay as well as strip steak. Great food.

Top of the World - was pretty good. Amazing view, show up early to tour the top of the Stratosphere!

One of the best (and most expensive meals) I ever had was at Picasso (at the Bellagio).

For an old school under-rated treasure featuring steak and seafood, I recommend Alan Albert's.

For Chinese, consider "Fin" at the Mirage.

For Japanese, "Nobu" at the Hard Rock is hard to beat!

bdjuf we're in Vegas right now and will be here on NYE... wanna meet up for drinks?

For Chinese, there is an All You Can Eat restaurant, not far from Excalibur, on the Strip, not expensive, only drinks are extra.
You can also eat an inexpensive buffet at the basement of the Luxor hotel, something like $12, with plenty of food and even drinks (juice, coffee).

Fat Burger on the Las Vegas Strip

Redrob 12-26-2008 01:40 AM

Fat Burger is great.....big, greasy burgers.....yum.

I also like Sushi on Trop. Great sushi, special rolls, full Japanese menu and all you can eat for about $30.

Even has green tea, red bean, and plum ice cream. Buy 10 dinners and get one free!

I'm sad to say that I've had a lot of inconsistent dining experiences here. Lot's of restaurants have been great one time and garbage the next. Nove is a good example of that.
N9ne at the Palms is really good; probably the best that I've had in Vegas. Red Square and China grill at Mandalay Bay are both decent. Tao is really good for sushi. Terrace Point Cafe at the Wynn is decent for lunch (it's got outside seating around the pool).
I'm really interested in trying Lavo at the Palazzo.

Steak - Delmonicos in the Venitian, or Smith and Wolenski

Lobster - The Rosewood Grill

Italian - Zefferinos upstairs at the Venitian

These are the "Must Go To's" when I have been in Vegas

notime 12-26-2008 05:20 AM

"Nobu" at the Hard Rock was really good last year !

I'm gonna have to second this motion... :thumbsup

Nothing like a nice big big cheeseburger with bacon and egg at 4 am to drive vegas home.

DaddyHalbucks 12-26-2008 05:59 AM

If you like Japanese, try Todai, it's in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood. It's cafeteria style. They have every imaginable kind of Japanese food.

tranza 12-26-2008 06:01 AM

this one, I recommend! :D
