Discussion on what Affiliates do for a Program...

I was just critiquing a web site for a guy that has no affiliate program. He approached me via Email asking me to review his site. It is a teen solo site. Never heard of it before him asking me.

So I asked him about an affiliate program and he stated that he didn't need one and I would be getting hits from people searching for his girl so I would be able to convert that traffic how ever I wanted... I assume he meant dating, cams, Fleshlights, whatever...

His site has been open for 1 month and has an Alexa rating in the 5 million range. I am sure Alexa takes some time to update and the real rank might be in the 2 million range... but that isn't crap either.

So I laid it all out for him. If he opens an affiliate program he will get 10 million people seeing the girl each day. Out of that perhaps 220,000,000 uniques a month @ 1:18000 will actually go to his site for 12,222. Out of that even a low conversion of 1:150 would only net both him an the affiliates $1218 a month. That is basically crap money!!!

But the other side of it is where the money comes in... Because of all of that exposure a few months into the deal he will be getting 8,000 typeins a day... At the same 1:150 which typeins will convert at he gets $1,597 a day. Since that is daily income it actually does mean something. It means he has a goldmine.

Now a larger program with more sites or even a more known site like Emily 18 will get many more times that in traffic from affiliates. I am sure Emily18 has at least 10 affiliates that make $200 or more a day from her (alone). But we are talking about a relatively unknown girl from this guy.. So I lowballed the figures and he would still be making a killing with an affiliate program.

And for those of you that didn't know why affiliate programs are important.. now you know...

For every $1 you pay your affiliates they bring you approx $60. Just because the money didn't come through their links doesn't mean they didn't bring it in.

I guess that is why people like Brazzers think they can fuck us... They don't see how important the affiliate is. They don't know or perhaps don't care that they owe us for making them who they are BIG TIME!!!

BTW, I am awaiting his reply via Email...

While we wait.. I have another point.

He stated that I would be getting hits into my blog from people looking for his (mostly unheard of) girl. I told him that my smaller blogs like TeensRHot.com get 1000 hits from the term "hot teens" a day... His girls name doesn't show up in Google trends so that argument for not having a program and me having more to gain is basically crap. His girl is going to get several hundred hits a day and I am going to get 5 a day from him... if I am lucky...

I think you should tell him to buy traffic from DamageX and send it straight to his joinform.

question VRocks- i'm looking at third party processors. Do affiliates care if the affiliate program is run through CCBill or with an unknown program like Zombaio? I want to get as many affiliates as possible - would an unknown program make many affiliates not sign up or just a few?

thanks

I don't give a shit what you use for processing so long as I get paid for the sales no matter who you use.

Everything depends on content as to whether you get a lot of affiliates or not...

Examples of sites with many affiliates because they have great content:

Nasty Dollars
Nubiles
Teen Revenue
Fuck You Cash

All of them really didn't need to market the program because the content modeled itself for them. I surf my competition and I find lots of new sites that way. Sites I wouldn't have seen otherwise. And I join and promote them because something about their content caught my eye.

$1,597 per day from typeins to a solo girl site?
