2008: Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!

I think 2008 will go down as the worst year, not just for this business, for the world in general. Feel free to list reasons why it sucked in this thread (or why you loved it)!

On the flip, 2009, isn't looking like it is off to a good start. :(

munki 12-29-2008 02:51 PM

My no more funerals rule was broken severely... 2007 and 2008 go down as record bad years, few highlights here and there, but mostly shite.

Evil Chris 12-29-2008 02:52 PM

Get Bush, the economy, the mortgage crisis, the shitty dollar, low joins, stolen content, lame GFY trolls, (add your own here)... etc..

Get the FUCK out of my 2009.

Well put.

Sosa 12-29-2008 02:53 PM

Ups and downs like any other year. Overall I'm happy though

pixovore 12-29-2008 02:54 PM

2009 won t be that easy

seeandsee 12-29-2008 02:54 PM

2009 will be worst :)

xxxjay 12-29-2008 03:04 PM

When anwering to the poll you must remember 2009 has not happened yet.

DirtyDanza 12-29-2008 03:08 PM

I have traffic trades...hit me up on ICQ 62835707

Scott McD 12-29-2008 03:16 PM

It certainly wasn't great. I think it's safe to say that anyway.

Will 2009 be any better though ? I sure hope so. But not so sure... :Oh crap

CaptainHowdy 12-29-2008 04:01 PM

The best and the worse... whatever!

uno 12-29-2008 04:03 PM

Mostly complete shit, but I did enjoy the election.

starpimps 12-29-2008 04:05 PM

well the 2nd half of 08 sure as hell sucked . First half was moderately bearable

Elli 12-29-2008 04:39 PM

It could be worse, but it certainly wasn't a great year in any respect. I'm glad Obama was voted in, but that was more a judgement on Bush's administration than much else. My cooking skills improved and um... that's about the only really good thing about 2008 that I can think of.

leedsfan 12-29-2008 04:45 PM

im sorry to hear so many had bad experiences in 2008. It was a decent year for me.

I think 2009 shows plenty of promise, in truth.

In life as with everything else being versatile and adapting to the climate, ensuring your businesses continue to offer value, and grow over time is what is key.

Work hard and even tough times can be bearable.

Jay i know you bust your balls working, so 2009 won't be a disaster for you will it mate? ;)

CarlosTheGaucho 12-29-2008 04:53 PM

Although the numbers were not that bad - 2007 and 2008 were the worst years for me personally.

Martin 12-29-2008 04:55 PM

2008 was a bad year for sure. Not just for the adult industry though. Alot of people took a big loss this year. Just be thankful you still have a nice roof over your head while alot of other people now live in poverty.

baddog 12-29-2008 05:00 PM

Not hardly.

wyldblyss 12-29-2008 05:17 PM

2008 had its rough spots, but overall, it was one unbelievable year. I grew as a mother, wife, and business woman. I made several of my "lifetime dreams" come true. If 2009 is anything like 2008, bring it on baby, it's gonna be fun

Eh, there are plenty of ways to prosper in a down economy. Just gotta be smarter than the rest. If you truly are, your success will show it, if not, you'll be sitting on losses. That's why I love capitalism.

JP-pornshooter 12-29-2008 05:46 PM

worst year ever for investments but otherwise a decent 2008.
i think 2009 will thin the ranks, also in adult.

tony286 12-29-2008 05:48 PM

even if the economy was booming losing my dad will make it always the worse year ever.

Nicky 12-29-2008 05:49 PM

I have good hopes for 2009

jmcb420 12-29-2008 05:54 PM

08 was a bummer year, but all around alright. No close friends or family died, I managed not to get arrested, and I made more money online then I spent.

08 made 07 look bad and 07 was pretty good too. 09 is just another 365 to do things right, or wrong then right. Either way, I'm just happy to be here, you know?

spacedog 12-29-2008 05:57 PM

2009 will be much worse than 2008.. for Americans anyway

RogerV 12-29-2008 06:03 PM

2008 blew! lost alot of money in real estate and sales sucked. my mainstream stuff saved my ass which has never happend before. it was always adult before. or I should say this was the least I made in adult in 12 years
I hope the industry realizes we need to clean up our mess. which to me is all the free hardcore online

candyflip 12-29-2008 06:03 PM

We had a kid. 2008 was a great year.

2009 will probably rank right up there, since we just found out we're having another baby.

After that...

Star 69 12-29-2008 06:43 PM

Not such a bad year for me

Maybe with AFF crapping out there will be less money to fund it.

96ukssob 12-29-2008 07:54 PM

im hoping i can get projects and sites launched soon to make '09 a lot better :thumbsup

jay23 12-29-2008 08:04 PM

Tubes are not going to go away. The bandwidth prices keep going down which means tubes sites can give more away and 2009 will be even worse.

webgurl 12-29-2008 08:52 PM

The stock market really took a huge yank on me :(
what a nightmare ....

Imortyl Pussycat 12-29-2008 09:10 PM

second worst year of my life. i will cry a tear of joy on new years eve when this shithole year passes.

MissMina 12-29-2008 09:22 PM

I won't miss 2008 that's for sure. A few highlights but was mostly the suck. 2006/2007 was better.

I hope so. we need to figure out a way to change things. maybe payout more to the webmasters who send traffic from cenored or softcore free sites. some sort of incentive?

HorseShit 12-30-2008 11:19 AM

it was a pretty shitty fucking year, good for sales but everything else sucked

gaymale 05-25-2009 04:47 AM

2008 was bad, but 2009 will bankrupt us. Throwing trillions of dollars at companies while at the same time preparing for those company to go into chapter 11, meaning we won't see those dollars back, EVER, is just plain stupidity.

Iron Fist 05-25-2009 05:01 AM

2009 looks to be worse than 2008.. lower revenue month over month this year, lower joins, lower rebills...
