Anyone gone skiing this winter?

I haven't gone in years and years. As a child I went on Sundays during the winter with my Dad. I've been getting the bug lately.

What's a good place to vacation with family and separately what is a good coupley place? I don't care about the price.

I'll be riding and partying new years eve, heading to the mountains tomorrow and I ain't coming back, haha. fuck ya. The snow reports in the interior have been looking pretty juicy so far! 40cm dumps, say wha?

No snow in Florida.

I've never been skiing, even when I lived in the Midwest with tons of snow. Me + Sticks + Ice = Bad Times.

both answers to your questions lie in this response...

go to steamboat... for a family and couple place in the mountains it is better then most. More laid back... further west in the mountains and different attitudes.

For skiing... make sure you drive back east and get to Mary Jane... the best skiing there w/out a doubt. Night life in winterpark kinda sucks so steamboat is better to stay.

Have fun

i live in Whistler BC. My place is about 150 meters from the gondola. i'm looking at it as I type this.

Whistler is really expensive, but a great place for both familie's and couples. We have over 100 resturants/bars, two mountains, and a crazy ass gondola that just opened a couple of weeks a go call the peak 2 peak, that set a bunch of world records (longest unsupported lift in the world (4km) highest in the world (almost half a km)), which now links Whistler to Blackcomb (no need to shuttle from one mountain to the other). it's going to dump big-time over the next couple of days, which is great for new years.

i've owned a place here for 5 years, if you are interested in coming up and have any questions about the area, shoot.

Yeah I hear ya. I wasnt too impressed with the conditions. However, they have night skiing where they groom and then open up the bottom half of the mountain at around 5 or 6 PM... Me and my buddies just sat on our skis next to our ski on/off condo and planned it perfectly for first tracks on the groomed whatever it was.

Some of the best skiing ive had this year, for about 5 runs.
