So what changed adult in 2008?

just a wondering....

Spunky 01-01-2009 08:48 PM

I would guess the tubes had quite a bit to do with it

SomeCreep 01-01-2009 09:31 PM

Tube sites.

skrinkladoo 01-01-2009 09:33 PM

consumers.

davecummings 01-01-2009 11:17 PM

The economy, copyright infringers (including some tubes), consumer attitudes, and .....

spacedog 01-01-2009 11:18 PM

amount of sponsors not paying, or paying late has increased.

DefaultMan 01-01-2009 11:33 PM

The economy....and tube sites didn't help things

I'd say a little bit yes!

Well we moved from bitching about Torrents to Tubes. Dating and Cam sponsors made more money this year then ever.

We fucked up and elected a black man to fuck us all over.

We bailed out banks and car companies that should have failed.

ummmm

i really hope this wont turn in the usual "we hate tubes 2cents" kinda thread ;):)

After Shock Media 01-02-2009 12:38 AM

Guess Mastercard did but it has not yet been fully felt since it was so recent.

hypedough 01-02-2009 12:44 AM

Will the news of 2009 be Visa blocking pre-checked cross sales?

skrinkladoo 01-02-2009 05:36 PM

I still say its the consumer.

My logic is consumers fuel innovation and production of products. If a product is not well received it will naturally be rejected by the consumer - failed. Production stops.

This works for the tubes, like it or not the consumers spoke, and said we want 20 minute clips for free, we want it in an searchable, organized fashion, and we want a shit load of it. Tubes worked to fill this gap, consumers agreed in record numbers - passed. Production continued.

To anyone who might get upset that i said this:
I don't even own a tube site, but - I am not sure i wont forever, its adaption. We must adapt - if that means producers want to continue to make content, the shouldn't be closed minded to the e-commerce channel of tubes. I would never steal content (to make a tube) and with all the webmaster programs (what a million give or take) - why should you have to. I don't like this anymore than you do, but then again honestly I am not in this to make friends, I'm in this to make money. When i say money not 50$, rather a viable and persistent revenue stream. Standard principles of capitalism. From the TGP/MGP network side of it, its scary ... times are changing. But you cant just say its over, you have to try to better accommodate the consumer.

So what changed in 2008 - the consumer. What has to occur in 2009 innovation.

This was a really good question - I'd still like to hear what others thought from a business perspective.

All right, so most of what I hear is "tube" sites...what I don't understand is how "tube" sites can get away with this when Napster was sunk. Napster took off and the consumer became accustomed to free music. the Music industry went buck nutty and now people have gotten used to buying music again. Why isn't the same thing happening with Tube sites? Seems to me that there is damn near (if not more) money in the adult industry, and a fuck of a lot more of us. What's the problem?

IMO Youtube is eventually going to be shut down anyway [ Just like Napster] and the whole model pops, but it'll take a little time.

- Nice, I think this one might be cut and dry. Music Industry can lobby Congress for intervention. The porn industry - thats another story. Maybe Im wrong, but sadly i dont think so.

Truth is, it isn't an adult issue. It's a copyright issue. Same as music really, I don't see what the difference is between napster and youtube. I really cannot see how Youtube has gotten away with it so far. And, If youtube goes down, the adult tube sites go down. All you need is the legal precidence.
