biz thread: where will the internet be in 10 years?
the last 6 months i have heard countless people complain about and propose solutions to taking down the tube sites. Face it, its a new technology that is not going away. may as well be a typewriter company figuing out how they can stop the personal computer.
so is is smart to aim your business goals toward the characteristics of the net in 10 years? what will be there? video merging with TV, sparked by perhaps by a deal between the dvr companies/tivo and a cable company. the cost and process of transfering images/huge amounts of video will be close to nothing. the major |
Aside from having pretty much every gizmo communicating with each other via the Internet, it's really anyone's guess.

as far as content goes, it will be simple to archive it in the future and i think that in the past year or less, we have seem tube sites dilute the perceived value of everyday, nonexclusive porn.

The Internet will be faster, more people will be online around the world and sex will continue to make the world go round.
Sounds good for us! |
Will it be Web 10.0 at that point?

really the concept of the pipes being opened so that it became cost effecient to deliver adult content to the masses. the content on those illegal sites is good enough for a sizable portion of previous/potential customers. |
here's are my 50 cents guesses:
IPTV with 100Mbit to 1+Gbit connections build in to many standard electronics like: Phones, tv's, cameras, mp3 players, dvdplayers, etc. Holographic dating & webcam sex and 3D touch screens (with extra nanobot orgasm excellerators/replicators) Voice & touch controlled pc's/electronics (maybe even mind controlled) Fingerprint & iris scan payment systems that do monthly consolidated billing Cristal, holographic and organic drives that store so many Petabytes it will make the current 1 TB drives look like a 3.5 floppy disc :) fuck-a-hot-clone.com "looks exactly like your dream girl but she does not nag or cheat....but cooks & cleans as the best" Memory recording & playback ("buy a hot memory; be tommy lee on a boat for a day....") Nano tech penis enlargements; "wake up with a brand new dick...." I am getting carried away here....but a dirty mind is a joy forever ! lol |
You cant pay todays bill, with something that people want in 10 years.
Focus on doing your job 10% better then the competition and giving people 10% more than they expected. That will ensure you a profitable business, as long as you have customers. |

a netflix-type company will make a deal with tivo-like company to send movies through the net, and i think this will be the catalyst for the tv/computer merge
within 2 years |
Nobody knows it!!

In a partnership to be announced Monday, LG Electronics will start selling high-definition TV sets that stream Netflix videos directly from the Internet, without an additional device. The deal marks the first time Netflix's streaming service will be embedded in a television.
Those streamed movies can be watched on a computer, or sent to a TV through an increasing number of devices, including a $100 unit made by Silicon Valley startup Roku Inc. Other partnerships enable Netflix to pump its video library to TVs through Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 video game consoles or recorders made by TiVo Inc. LG and Samsung Electronics Co. also sell Blu-ray DVD players compatible with the streaming service. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...?hpid=sec-tech |
It will be....... in my cormpooterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!
I dunno.. it'll be cool though with tons of porn! :) |
I think gangs/tribes will be formed. In 10 years there will be a full blown war on the internets.
|
Eyeball porn. You know the lens that is a computer on the eye call, similar to contacts? I think it will have special feeds going to your brain or vision for private use. Who knows....
