Wonder if they realize they repeated at least one of them in the list.

JamesK 01-03-2009 08:30 PM

I've seen some of those before :1orglaugh

hahmike 01-03-2009 08:36 PM

I don't quite remember, it was a long time ago...

but I'm sure that someone posted something about a leaked members list before on this board, complete with emails and passwords and shit...

some major sponsors were on that list, turns out that the email addresses and password combinations also worked for some epassporte accounts.

so there were major sponsors with epassporte accounts looking like

email: [email protected] pass: 12345
email: [email protected] pass: password
email: [email protected] pass: beer

those weren't real logins but you get the idea...

excuse the fuckin nonsensical nature of this post, as the jd is starting to kick in...

point is, a lot of people don't learn until they've been bit on the ass.

fris 01-03-2009 08:50 PM

i use 1234 for all my passwords

Iron Fist 01-03-2009 08:52 PM

and you wonder why password cracking is so damn easy? Err.. i mean.... ahh nevermind.

SomeCreep 01-03-2009 08:54 PM

The movie "Hackers" taught me that system administrators love to use the passwords "love," "sex," and "god." I was able to hack many Gibsons with that tip.

Marcus Aurelius 01-03-2009 08:56 PM

glad that I didn't see not a single one I use in that list.

Did you hack any banks across state lines? thats universally stupid. Don't worry I hid the evidence, I put it in the place where I put that thing that time.

I mean, suppose my password is on the list, and I choose another, it wouldn’t really matter to you, because you could instantly see that mine is now, say, the 20365th most common password, and you’d hack into my account with the same ease.

lol funny comment

rowan 01-03-2009 09:58 PM

I use a junk generator for most of my important passwords. 6 characters for account level login, 12 for root p/w.

BTW, that site isn't showing for me. I guess "coffee" is at, or somewhere near, the top?

Elli 01-03-2009 10:42 PM

hahah oh god my old ones are on there.

hypedough 01-04-2009 12:10 AM

Awesome list, forward that to all your non-computer savvy friends when they ask why their computer has viruses, etc..

martinsc 01-04-2009 12:30 AM

lol.... how did they get all my passwords?

Jack Sparrow 01-04-2009 01:33 AM

Glad my 00000 is not on the list..

Right?

Phil 01-04-2009 01:42 AM

Thats why you get roboform.
I remember when minusonebit posted those passwords for epass accounts.

Jakez 01-04-2009 02:00 AM

Is it really that hard to think up something unique and easy to remember? It is called a PASSWORD for a reason. IMO none of those should have even been a password but what the hell..

rowan 01-04-2009 04:50 AM

It's the "easy to remember" bit that's difficult. I first ran into a random (uppercase/lowercase/digits) password with a billing company. It was fun hearing the rep reading it over the phone! Since then I'm sold on garbage passwords... :D

The problem is that people think they *are* being unique when they choose something like 'fuckyou' as a password. :)

borked 01-04-2009 01:18 PM

I quite like my impenetrable root pass of Yn0T69mEe@chM0rn1nG

gornyhuy 01-04-2009 01:27 PM

Anyone notice: Both Voodoo and Baddog are entries in the list.

swoop 01-04-2009 01:36 PM

VeriSexy 01-04-2009 03:37 PM

I don't see any of mine there ;)

teg0 01-04-2009 05:00 PM

kind of a funny list.

raymor 01-04-2009 06:01 PM

It amazes me some of the passwords that webmasters choose.
More than once we've had to tell webmasters something like "the
password you've chosen for your Strongbox admin, 'admin', would
surely be hacked, so we won't be using that. Instead we've set it
to "topworpasswalltim". We have a free tool available to make sure
that you're users don't chose stupid passwords:

madawgz 01-04-2009 06:06 PM

haha thats pretty funny :1orglaugh
