is Windows 7 going to be good or bad ?

Ballmer's Promise: Windows 7 'Best Version Of Ever'

Windows 7

Over the past few years, you've asked us to make some changes to Windows. We listened closely. Now it's time to share an early look at how we've used your feedback. Windows 7 is faster, more reliable, and makes it easier to do what you want. Both the everyday things and the killer "is that really possible?" things. Dig into this site to see what's coming. And remember?this is just a preview. There's more to come.

I heard nothing but good about it. I'd definitely buy it when it comes out. Its much faster than Vista.

tony286 01-08-2009 10:54 AM

Im pissed to try the beta you have to be using fucking vista.

2012 01-08-2009 11:02 AM

I hope I'm never unfortunate enough to try it

DannysReviews|com 01-08-2009 11:15 AM

Try streaming live video over a router, it seems choppy. I've tried it on two computers. One high end, one lower end computer over the same connection.

With Vista, the video would always play without loss on both computers. I know windows 7 is beta, so I don't expect a perfect product.

tranza 01-08-2009 11:22 AM

Hope it's better than Vista!

kmanrox 01-08-2009 12:54 PM

XP was indeed good.
My new notebook had Vista on it and I was not satsified at all.
I dont think windows 7 will be much better. They should raise the first child before
setting up another one ;)

It's a fairly easy and quick install. I haven't done anything more than that, but no issues yet.

Gonna try and install it on a Mac this weekend for shits and giggles.

chodadog 01-08-2009 09:49 PM

I don't get why people hate on Vista. I've had one bluescreen since I got it, and I've been running it about 9 or 10 months now. Just shell out the few bucks to get enough ram to run it with ease and it's a treat.

ExLust 01-08-2009 11:55 PM

They say it's good.

onlymovies 01-09-2009 12:22 AM

i've heard it's pretty good via the geek/computer forums. I've been building a new system so i've been real interested hearing what the those chaps have to say about it. So far it's been surprisingly good. But if you plan on installing early, remember...it's a beta.

OverdueNudes 01-09-2009 01:23 AM

I mean i'm gonna have to at least give it a try.

nation-x 01-09-2009 07:34 AM

Um that's why it's called a BETA.

i always get amused when people bitch about betas being buggy.

Windows 7 will be the best version of windows for a desktop

UniqueD 02-27-2009 12:50 PM

i've been using it on my main system for about 2 months now. its much more stable than vista was. the same system i used to have blue screens 2-3 times a week due to issues with video card drivers.

undersoul 02-27-2009 12:51 PM

i still use XP on an old sony vaio, which i love. its time to change computer though. thinking about mac. don't know yet.

Khulan 02-27-2009 01:07 PM

Hopefully, it would be good and beat the fucking Vista.

Horny Dude 02-27-2009 01:21 PM

So how much memory are we going to need to run that? It looks fast, but how much they running on those machines. Vista was a memory hog.

just a punk 03-26-2009 11:23 AM

I can't wote for nothing. This poll sux because there is no "i don't know" option.

P.S. According to what I heard, Windows 7 will be almos the same useless shit as Vista. But let's hope it won't happen.

You both are wrong. There are 2 ABSOLUTELY different families of windows:
1) MS-DOS-based ones: 1.x, 2.x, 3.x, 95/98/98se/Me
2) NT family: NT 3.x, NT 4.0., 2000 (NT 5.0), XP (NT 5.1), XP64 Pro/Windows Server 2003 (NT 5.2), Vista/Windows Server 2008 (NT 6.0), 7 (NT 6.1)

:2 cents:

Emil 03-26-2009 11:36 AM

I've been using it on my laptop for some time now and I don't really know if I would call it good or bad. I guess it's just OK.
