That company is about as shitty as they come.

Brown Bear 11-13-2002 05:24 PM

I have no problems with directnic, why don't you like them?

Same here. My one complaint about them is that it's actually harder to move domains from one account to another within DirectNIC than it is to move a domain from another registrar. Go figure. To move domains within DirectNIC you need fill out a form and FAX it to them, with a move from another registrar, it can all be done administratively and with mere e-mail verifications.

Peaches 11-13-2002 05:39 PM

I LOVE Directnic!!! :thumbsup

And Unseen - I moved some domains from one account to another within Directnic just a couple of days ago and it worked exactly like a registrar transfer - all done via email and done w/in 24 hours. Maybe they changed the process recently?

Bobby 11-13-2002 08:17 PM

UnseenWorld Are you sure that it's Directnic not Internic?

You don't need to send a fax about directnic man

And same here - I have been using them for 2 years now I think and they have worked great. I get 1 free domain name now ever 5 I pay for. I guess a few 100 domains later you would think they would do something for me. :)

m0rph3us 11-13-2002 09:22 PM

tried about all of em. Directnic rocks!

Pharoh 11-13-2002 09:28 PM

DirectNIC was nice enough to charge me for my domain registration twice... although I did everything they wanted me to... and then didn't register my domain... then when I tried to contact them I got post master responces, tried to call them got a this number has been disconnected message... tried to snail mail them and got a return to sender.... DirectNIC blows large purple donkey balls in my book... Godaddy.com all the way!

:BangBang: DirectNIC

Rictor 11-13-2002 09:29 PM

I transferred some domains from a Directnic account to my account a couple weeks ago...took a few minutes...no faxing involved.

PornBroker 11-14-2002 07:14 AM

DirectNIC are shit hot.
I have had complete nightmares with a few others.
:thumbsup

KRL 11-14-2002 07:36 AM

DirectNIC is outstanding. I've tried several and they have the best domain management system around. You're the first person I've heard say something negative. Surprised to hear that.

On a 1 to 10 they get a solid 10 in my book.

I have a good question, speaking of Network Solutions, why the fuck don't they drop their prices down ?? Right now their deal is they'll charge you $25 per year if you register for 3 years at a time, but other than that, it's still $35. Why the hell would you do that when you can to go Direct Nic and pay only $15 and get the same thing ??

You'd think that Network Solutions would figure that right now, they're getting killed in the market, so why not lower your prices before everyone leaves ??? That's fucking stupid on their part.

Slick 11-14-2002 11:48 AM

Oh yeah, I forgot to add, DirectNIC KICKS ASS !!!

FreeNetPass Steve 11-14-2002 12:08 PM

GoDaddy.com and Stargateinc.com are good. DirectNIC... they are okay if you want to pay x2 the amount you should be paying.

logangaines 11-14-2002 12:50 PM

Directnic is excellent! Easy domain name management and cheap prices too. Directnic rocks!

(Fuck Network Solutions.)

directnic have always been good for us.

Snake Doctor 11-15-2002 10:59 AM

I use direcnic as well and have never had a problem.

Plus their office is a hop and a skip from me on Poydras, so if they fuck something up I can go over there personally and kick someone's ass :1orglaugh

Ever tried leaving networksolutions? It can be a fucking nightmare. Twice in the past I've been on the verge of legal action against them for not letting me move domains. It was the only way to do it in the end. Thankfully last time was a few years ago now.

Directnic if the dogs bollocks. Been using them years and would rather pay the few bucks extra for great service with them than use others. The only time I had a problem in that time with a new domain not resolving it was fixed within a couple of hours and an e-mail sent to me. 10/10 in my book too.

<IMX> 11-15-2002 11:20 AM

I like directnic, I had domains with them for a while, but why pay $15 when you can pay half that at godaddy or namebargain?

Mutt 11-15-2002 11:20 AM

i can't believe anybody has a problem with Directnic.

Directnic ROCKS! You gotta be a fucking moron if you can't figure out how to use Directnic. That's why it rocks, it's so easy to manage domains.

GoDaddy hides scammers. I haven't been to their site lately but somebody on some board says they have a service which protects scammers.

And if you have a problem with Directnic all you have to do is make a post on Oprano and somebody will get back to you about your problem pronto.

rdunn404 11-15-2002 11:23 AM

Haha....The Directnic people must love this thread. Someone tries to start a flame on them and this turns out to be a big recommendation thread. And yes, Directnic rocks. I love em! :thumbsup

DarkJedi 11-15-2002 11:26 AM

been using directnic for 2 years and they KICK ASS :thumbsup
