Craigslist does work, I sold my Nintendo WII

Two months ago on a Friday night i put my wife's old Honda Civic on it and the next day at 11:15 am it was sold for $ 1,400.00

yesterday morning i put my semi-new Nintendo WII and it was sold last night at 7pm for $ 500.00

Now i'd like to put my mother in law on Craigslist but probably she wouldn't sell even for free.

So let's get this straight.

You advertised something as being for sale.
And someone bought it.
And you needed to tell this to hundreds of people.
And then you made a bad 90's sitcom joke.

3M TA3 01-10-2009 03:04 PM

Does the mother-in-law eat much?

d-null 01-10-2009 03:04 PM

good to hear craigslist came through for you

I've bought stuff from craigslist too, it's a good service

Sosa 01-10-2009 03:15 PM

Was there a bag of blow in it?

candyflip 01-10-2009 08:45 PM

If you know what you're doing, CL can be a goldmine. Kijiji and Backpage rock too.

msp 01-10-2009 09:46 PM

I heard you can find hookers on there.

Iron Fist 01-10-2009 10:17 PM

a WII for $1,400? So did someone offer to give you a cashiers cheque for $2,500 and offer for you to keep the difference?

Yep, just click on the erotic section in services!:thumbsup

Craigs List is killing the newspaper industry. Newspaper classifieds were the bread and butter of their biz model, now everyone is using craigs list so there goes their ad revenue. You can't compete with a site that gets that much traffic and doesn't charge you a dime to post an ad. I think they do charge for Help Wanted ads now though.

CL is aight...

xmas13 01-11-2009 11:15 AM

Fail................

woj 01-11-2009 11:16 AM

My experience is just the opposite, you try to sell some $500 item on there, and idiots offer you $100 for it, then when you finally get someone who wants to pay a fair price they jerk you around... they say they will pick it up at 8pm, 70% of the time, they don't, don't even call... 20% fuck up in some other way, like don't bother writing down your address or fail to look up directions, so then you spend 30 mins giving idiots directions as they drive around your neighborhood in circles... only maybe 10% of the transactions are smooth...

SomeCreep 01-11-2009 12:52 PM

congrats

I used to make some good money on there pushing dating sites with fake ads, but now to many flag your ass quick. It also got flooded with too many fools doing the same thing...:1orglaugh Now the whole Casual Encounters section is nothing but fake ads, waste of time now.

Thanks for ruining a good thing, spammer.

When I lived in Atlanta, I bought AND sold my car very quickly through Caiglist.

It really amazed me how well this site works. It actually took me 1 single day to sell my car. And people kept calling for at least 2-3 days.

that's true it took me a while before that stopped, even when i removed the ad..

Cyndalie 01-14-2009 01:03 PM

Nice! I sell baby gear and toys off as I stop using it and use the money to get new toys and clothes and stuff. It's great. I've sold about $300 worth of stuff in the past 2 months. I did sell an Xbox for like $350 within 12 hours once.
Not bad for a free service!

fris 01-22-2009 04:18 PM

i was thinking of selling my xbox on craigslist

pamon 01-22-2009 04:20 PM

who'd pay $500 for a Wii when you can get one for $250 on Amazon? CL works but this story about the Wii has issues.
