Indie 103.1 in LA is GONE
:mad::mad::mad::mad:
Voted the best station in AMERICA of 2008.. now it's no more http://www.rollingstone.com/news/cov...0200609/page/8 I AM DEPRESSED!!! http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdail...game/?rand=914 what am I going to listen to know when I go to sleep? Dave Navarro with Dark Matter, Suicide Girls Radio, Dj Paul V with Neon Noise on Saturdays, and in the Mornings? I was just getting used to TK in the mornings... Harmony in my head? Passport Approved on the weekends?... oh so much more... not even to mention Jonesys Jukebox!.... LA radio just lost another great iconic station to total crap... I'm disgusted |
this is worse that Richard Blade leaving KROQ in the 80's...
|
indie is the best station by far. I cant even stomache kroq. This really sucks
|
Go to sleep listening to coasttocoastam on 640

It sucks over here in New York area, but its the only game in town. Hearing Crazy Train by Ozzy should be a once every 5 years experience, not 3 times a fucking day. They are the most musically narrow-minded bunch of assholes ever. Where's the Pixies? Where's the Liz Phair? How about some Metal other than Metallica? They have zero imagination. |
They had a great format. Introduced a lot of new stuff that kicked ass. You didn't have to have a record company buy your air time. If you rocked, you rolled.

2012 yes.. only because I've been a believer since 1995 not because of the latest crap out on TV. Read the book, Fingerprints of the gods by Graham Hancock. It's a thick page turner that I had to read at least 5 times to understand and is a constant companion in my bathroom while I take my morning dump and prepare for my work day. I believe there is a bit of truth in movies, novels, tv-shows ad infinitum as per acclimating society to upcoming changes or paradigm shifts to the way life in our way of lives are adhered to. The "New World Order" may or may not have been preparing us for Barack Obama by casting Morgan Freeman as GOD in the movie Bruce Almighty in 2003 as well as the United States of Americas President in the movie Deep Impact in 1998 but since I am not privy to such knowledge I can only conjecture that these happenstances as well as such things as Zues 'Tiny' Lester being President Lindberg in 1997's the Fifth Element have been part and parcel to circumstances that are beyond national control. The epic changes coming next week in the US of A next week do nothing to address the changes that are coming forward in the next few years if you were to take the litany of what is preached on CoastToCoast 640 AM to heart and allow yourself to run rampant with the ideas and fear that is preached by Art Bell and his Ilk. NONE OF THIS HAS TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT THE BEST MUSIC STATION IN LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA, VOTED BY ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE AS THE BEST RADIO STATION IN THE NATION OF 2008 HAS JUST GONE OFF THE RADIO RAVES BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO SELL OUT AND NOW THERE IS NOT A DECENT REPLACEMENT FOR THEM. Here is the best "Kroq music" of for the year... http://www.kroq-data.com/music/top1067/top1067-2008.asp I'd love to have a station in LA that plays Metallica, Liz Phair, all that... we don't even get to listen to that... Indie 103.1 is just the latest of a long list of EPIC stations that have gone down the tubes due to being bought out by bigger "Communication" enterprises. KLOS, KNAC, etc... Don't even let the playlist I listed above fool you, if it's good music, it was played on Indie 103.1 months before KROQ ever started playing it. I remember KROQ in the 80's.. it was a good station, maybe even in the 90's but once it was bought out by the majors and sent all over the nation... CRAP. Back in the 80's.... I used to listen to Rodney on the ROQ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rodney_Bingenheimer The Poorman - who started loveline with Drew Pinsky http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Trenton And Jed the Fish http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jed_the_Fish now I have nothing... NOTHING!!! LOL DG:pimp |

Jay... but I don't forget your place at the Brewery. I work there now, but when I started (3 years ago) I pulled in and remembered the kick ass place that first I met you. It was you, Chris, John S, Persian Kitty, Join4free, and it was about Sex.com...| I'm glad to see your still around because you've always kicked ass in my book. love your work, Regards, Dave G |
Just heard about it on the news, can't believe they're internet only.
|
I enjoy the music they play, but honestly... all that yap about 'indie' and 'revolution' and now 'The Man' is forcing them to 'play the corporate radio game' but they are resisting... I mean seriously, Indie 103 is clear channel. They are not Indie in any sense. The music is good, but all that BS astroturfing rhetoric always made their station hard for me to listen to,
|
C'mon... Pirate radio was the best on 103.1, at least in the LA area...
Hard to listen to regular radio anymore with satellite radio. Sirus FTW |

how much more "indie" do they have to be? DG |
