Dear HBO, I can only watch Gladiator so many times....

But I can watch the first 10 mins when Maximus Decimus Meridius fights those guys from Germania!

Superbad should have its own cable station at this point :2 cents:

Barefootsies 01-19-2009 12:23 AM

I can think of plenty of other shows on repeat that drive me more nuts then Gladiator.
:2 cents:

SomeCreep 01-19-2009 12:27 AM

Lol, they've been playing that shit alot

WWC 01-19-2009 12:31 AM

Bojangles 01-19-2009 01:52 AM

Don't even get me started on this shit. HBO needs to step it up.

smutnut 01-19-2009 05:26 AM

Holy Fuck, What about Godfather III? Not sure that's HBO or one of those other sorry ass cable stations, but at least Gladiator is watchable. They must repeat Godfather III every other hour LOL! It's not only the worst Godfather but one of the worst movies in Hollywood history!

On a brighter note for HBO: Anyone see the "Big Love" season 3 premiere, probably one of the best season openers in a long time if you're into the series and know what's going on.

tranza 01-19-2009 06:12 AM

Gladiator is nice, but i really dont like to watch the same movie lots of times...

BVF 01-19-2009 06:13 AM

I only have HBO because it comes with the free on-demand where I can just watch the movies they're offering that month...I can't remember the last time I've actually watched that station.

Sarah_Jayne 01-19-2009 08:44 AM

Reminds me of when HBO was new and it pretty much had 5 movies every month and would run them to death. I wonder how many times they actually showed Bachelor Party and Howard The Duck.

It's a secret plot to turn the nation slowly ghey.... careful. :Oh crap

Sosa 01-19-2009 08:52 AM

I rarely watch anything on HBO or any other movie channels.

Scott McD 01-19-2009 08:53 AM

Doesn't matter the channel here, whether it's a movie channel or just one of the regular channels, Die Hard is STILL the movie they always fucking show.

I mean seriously, we've seen it a million fucking times already !!!

Vicious_B 01-19-2009 09:25 AM

HBO has been notorious for that shit for a long long time. I can remember way way back in the day watching Zanadu over and over and that was when there was just one HBO channel.

Altheon 01-19-2009 10:08 AM

It's a great channel if you're a boxing fan especially since they have some good bouts in HD but the movie selection got repetitive. I dumped it a while ago. Saved a whole whopping $12 a month. :)

[old man voice]
In my day, HBO was only on the air for about 8-10 hours a day, but they whooped it up on the weekends with 13 hours of programming per day...and Ben Stiller's parents hosted a coming attractions show called "Sneak Previews"....

Zuzana Designs 01-19-2009 11:38 AM

What about Dirty Dancing.. I see this on at least 3 times a week, every week.. Is there anyone in the world that has not seen this movie at least 2 times !!!
And Super Bad is another that drives me crazy ...

Tom_PM 01-19-2009 11:55 AM

I havent had HBO since ....... I think it was 1977 and Rollerball was the hot movie they couldnt stop repeating.

SpicyM 01-19-2009 11:55 AM

HBO would be one of the shittiest channels even if it was free..

I cant say how retarded it is to play 1 boring film 3 times a day, 5 days a week for 5 months.. and ask money for it.. I can watch any new film from DVD rental and pay 1/6 of what they ask for this "film" channel, funny. No ads, lol.. they advertise their shit on another channel making it looking even worse.

at least if they play some old classics but nope, its just shit with annoying advertising

Tom_PM 01-19-2009 11:58 AM

Yep, and these days PPV has every movie available the same day it comes out on DVD.. so no need to even put on underwear to rent it, lmao.

We didn't have Prism at home but we had it at the shore house we rented for a few summers. That's where I got my first view of dirty movies.

RyuLion 01-19-2009 12:20 PM

And yet they have produced some of the best TV drama of the past decade. Nearly every TV drama I have loved has come from them.

Khulan 01-19-2009 12:53 PM

HBO suck. When I had HBO, I used to watch a movie so many times. Why cannot be watched only time, okay at least 2 times? It was annoying and I was getting tired of watching HBO.

Disney did the most effective 'free trial' weekends. I am sure that is how we managed to pester our parents into getting it.

LMAO, when I was little and first got HBO, I remember the movie KIDCO would play ALLLLLL the time, it didn't matter WHEN I turned on HBO that movie would be playing.

Fast forward 10 years or so, and I was without cable for a spell, got cable again turned on HBO and I shit you not fucking KIDCO was playing.

Fast forward about 10 more years and SAME THING

Just this past week I was running through the guide and I caught something... KIDCO!!!!!

You remember the movie right??

the movie about the kids SELLING SHIT!!!! and then having to go to court cause the big bad adults were trying to steal their business LMAO

A shity movie about shit... classic and ALWAYS on HBO lol.

But IMHO, HBO is TIGHT for it's SERIES, Trublood, Big Love, Sopranos, Oz, etc etc, thats what makes that channel even worth me paying for it..... and for their On Demand!

-Loki-

FreeHugeMovies 01-19-2009 10:28 PM

I watched that movie last week. Yes, I admit it! Kidco 4 Life

:1orglaugh I actually had my 8 y/o watch it last week as well, she could not understand why I damn near fell off my chair laughing when I saw the title in the guide so I had to show her what the biggest movie on HBO was lol.

Of course in the last 8 years I've also subjected her to Punky Brewster, Alf, Silver Spoons, Cartoon Allstars to the rescue (remember that one?) ABC Afterschool specials, and of course my favs.... The Great Space Coaster, and all the old Sid & Marty Kroft shows!

Supz 01-19-2009 11:20 PM

love that minute. first 10 minutes is awesome. rest of the movie is great too. i watch it every time its on

VIPimp 01-19-2009 11:23 PM

I cancelled HBO awhile ago, pissed me off seeing the same movies on there over and over and over... was only good for Sopranos+Entourage.

Sarah_Jayne 01-20-2009 05:54 AM

I wonder how much the DVD mail rentals have hurt channels like HBO. I get movie channels in my cable package but I rarely watch them because I order the films I want to see from my DVD rental account.
