I was rushed to the hospital because of Aspartame.
My legs and my head got numb and thought I was actually dying.

Never felt right every time I consumed it. I can detect it right away and this shit is everywhere. So no fat free or Diet stuff for me.
Also, beware of the labels that say'' No aspartame'' cause the ''Sucralose'' they use instead of Aspartame is as damaging.

I think MSG is one of those things that was never NEEDED in the first place. For example, I dont even keep table salt handy because I never salt anything. It's purely an aquired taste, and as a child I would knock my mothers hand away whenever she tried to salt my food. One time dumping all of my sweet corn onto her plate after she'd salted it to HER elevated grown up taste, lol. Headstrong kid, but it saved me from eating a ton of 100% unnecessary salt didnt it?

Same with MSG.. it's not needed, so it should never be in anything. Unfortunately in the US, the FDA is not in the business of keeping only "good for you" foods on our tables.. it's function is to keep the "we're sure it'll kill you" foods off the table.. so we're on our own with this.

MSG is banned in Australia.

msg was used in Chinese food extensively a few years ago, keeps vegetables crisp, now not as much.

I know that a lot of flavored potato and/or corn chips have MSG in them (Doritos, Pringles, etc)

My friend had migraine headaches for years and once he cut out MSG from his intake they stopped.

Agree. Sad to know that one of my aunt cooks with "seasoning". I tried telling her not to use MSG but seems she's not aware. :(

had the best chinese food in Minnesota last year at a restaurant and asked them if it had MSG and she said yes. Tried some local stuff w/ no MSG and it sucked.

Verdict: MSG Wins

There is poison in tons of stuff people eat every day. Learn what to avoid, like fluoride, aspartame, 'added flavour chemicals'.

Is that really the case?

I would bet it really is not banned, and perhaps just regulated with certain foods like it is in the US, say for infants.
