WASHINGTON (CNN) -- On his final full day in office, President Bush issued commutations for two former U.S. Border Patrol agents convicted in 2006 of shooting and wounding an unarmed illegal immigrant -- suspected of drug smuggling at the time -- and then covering it up.

Whether or not it was right, he probably bought that release from the Bush family.

They say the guy brandished a gun, but the fact that they tried to cover it up alone should be enough to keep them in jail for a lot longer. Lying and falsifying records are serious, serious crimes for people in that line of work.
