Site speed advice
You guys and gals have helped me out before with great direction regarding website maintenance, etc.
I have a site with 100k + registered members. I use user management software to keep track of those members and signing up. I have free and paying members. The problem is it is taking a painfully long time for the signup... both for free and when members want to upgrade. I think it's hurting my sales big time. Any recommendations for software and a company with experience with alot of members and the speed has been ironed out? It is for vstrippoker.com thanks! |
There is a guy here on GFY named "The Anal Hobbit" that would be perfect for this.
See if you can contact him. He really would know best. Does anyone else know any names? Or is A.H. about the best bet? |

Wow. Just got it fixed. Went from almost 2 minutes to about 3 seconds!!
"Sorry for delay with this. Do you use .htpasswd protection somewhere? I see in aMember CP -> protect folder you set only new_rewrite protection. The problem is htpasswd plugin. You have big customers database so plugin take a lot of time when rewrite htpasswd files. If you don't use .htpasswd protection there is no need to have plugin enabled so I disabled it and tested signup, it works fine now." |

40% to affiliates is too cheap |

It's mixes porn and poker... their are a bunch of solo scenes and games mixed... people pay for solo sites alone... 40% is what it was set out originally, i will likely change it too 50. Anyway, usually an email or ICQ asking about it would likely go a long way. But... still REALLY happy about the speed of signups! |
sales have doubled today already from the average over the last few weeks!... wow and this went on for over a year now
speed REALLY is a big issue! |
