so you are selling bandwidth for $.33 a meg...?

If you click on the order links you'll see the network connections are all 100 megabit. Good luck getting to 1000 megabit on a 100 megabit connection ;)

We are NOT giving, however we do have a great special running on the unmetered plans for as low as $339/mo! That pricing is specific to the servers shown on the 1 GBPS page of our website, so NO to the other assumption you were attempting to leap to. :1orglaugh

I do apologize that the website has not been updated on that page, at this time, but those connections on our 1 GBPS servers are true 1000 Mbps NICs in the servers connected to 1000 Mbps ports on the core routers. So the answer is YES clients do have the potential to push the full 1000 Mbps but as noted on the page these are also shared accounts on that portion of our network.

That is correct.

There are many hosts that base all of their hosting on a shared model and after numerous requests Caro Management decided to make it an available alternative from our network as well. The majority of our bandwidth remains dedicated which of course has a different pricing structure than an unmetered connection would.

With our current capacity compared to our planned utilization bandwidth at Caro.Net is never an issue.

when you say shared bandwidth pool do you mean a 25 port switch with 1000Mpbs dedicated ports connected to 25 servers, and the uplink to the router from the switch is only 1000Mpbs?

Each server is connected to its own 1 Gbps port.

i got that part already. but you said 25 servers share a 1Gbps bandwidth pool. does this mean you have a 25 port switch with a 1Gbps uplink to the router going out to the internet?

The switches at different positions in our network can vary in size so there really isn't a specific answer for this. What I can tell you after speaking with our Network Engineer is that the switches being deployed in that layer of the network allow for a 10 Gb uplink.

Clients on these unmetered accounts have access to the full 1 Gbps as advertised, with the only limiting factor being utilization by other clients in the shared circuit.
