What are FLORIDA Requirements for LEGIT Talent Agents?

If one is interested in becoming a legitimate (licensed, bonded) Adult Talent "Agent" in the State of Florida, can anyone tell me exactly what type of licencing and bonding requirements are necessary?

I know in CA. this is necessary in order to make a fee for bringing talent to production but not sure if the same applys in FLA?

Any help would be much appreciated

Thx

Not sure exactly what you are looking for, but I am a veteran independent producer and director of adult movies who shoots a lot of custom high definition content for adult DVD movies, tv broadcast and the internet in South Florida. I film on practical locations in and around Miami and also at a local studio space in Fort Lauderdale. You can see more in my sig. If there is anything you may need from me, hit me up.

Florida is pretty tough, huh:

Similar regulations affect all talent and modeling agencies operating within Florida. All talent and modeling agencies in the State of Florida must be licensed through the Department of Professional Regulation.

You are considered to be a "talent agent" according to the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation's definition if you, for compensation, engage in the occupation of procuring or attempting to procure engagements for an artist. This means you must have a talent agency business license to operate. By law, this definition applies regardless of your title (manager, casting director, casting agent, promoter, etc.). If you think you may need a license visit www.myflorida.com/dbpr. Under "DBPR Divisions", click on "Professions" and scroll down to "Talent Agencies". From here you can download the license application as well as access many other services offered by the DBPR.

Operating as a "talent agency" without a license is a 3rd degree felony in Florida. Hiring a "talent agency" without a license is also against the law and serves as grounds for the DBPR to take action against you.

Felony offenses are sentenced pursuant to Florida's criminal punishment code. A third degree felony is punishable by up to five years in prison, five years probation, and a $5,000 fine.

It seems that Florida is no joke. In the statute under "Talent agency regulations; prohibited acts" it states:

Quote:

(7) No talent agency may send or cause to be sent any person as an employee to any house of ill fame, to any house or place of amusement for immoral purposes ...
Do they consider shooting porn to be immoral (licentious or lascivious)?

Yes. There is actually a statute that seems to indicate that in Florida pornography is akin to prostitution....

Florida is not a place that I tell clients they should feel comfortable shooting content.

You might not get busted by the government but your contracts are probably not enforceable and can be voided by talent.
