Any Studios Slowing Down? Cutting back on the number of shoots and new sites?

I've heard that 90% of the studios are cutting back their productions.

Is anyone planning on cutting back their productions? That includes possibly launching new sites?

There's a reason for this, but we don't know what reason... hehehe

Martin 01-29-2009 12:27 PM

It wouldn't be a horrible thing. Studios are producing way too many straight up crap gonzo videos that pretty much feed the tube sites.

Cutting back on launching sites is not a good idea. New sites bring a rush of cash flow in.

tony286 01-29-2009 12:31 PM

no plans to cut back

Im actually ramping things up. With more models available than at anytime i can remember and costs dropping for shoots its the ideal time to stock up on video and image sets for our sites :winkwink:

Some probably should. They launch a new site then a few weeks later it just sits there with no updates or no new promo stuff.

no slowdown here either.. but i see more competition on the exclusive production side.
sharpen the pencil, shoot the best stuff and eat your competition for breakfast...

i can't complain at all :)

We haven't notice a price drop on the costs of shooting models, I'm sure they would be the first to feel any slow down by the industry.

I'm sure things will change and costs will have to drop, as it does take a lot more to sell new and older sites in this environment.

Just this year alone, I'm not seeing the flood of new sites that were launched last year this time. The few that are going live, seamed to have been planned out way before October of 2008.

I'm sure someone from the review sites, will have noticed by now.

The DVD studios are cutting back, and simply focusing on compilations of older videos. I'm sure a flood of comps will be hitting the local Adult DVD store.

In a recession, your number one asset is your sales team. And for affiliate programs, part of their sales team are their affiliates...who need new sites to promote. :)

I suppose it depends on where you get your models, i used to pay $800-$1000 per scene im now getting agents sending me e-mails with models rates as low as $700 per scene. As for models from my model finders they seem to be asking or accepting way less. Maybe im just lucky but i doubt it :)

Studio producing and shoting for websites is 2 different things, lol
yes they are cutting back but new sites are more and more every day :thumbsup

Gonzo is definitely slowing down, but the 'net business isn't.

ladida 01-29-2009 06:21 PM

I certainly wish some would slow down as many seem to be having payment problems :P

BVF 01-29-2009 06:22 PM

Not slowing down at all....Except for the fact that my daughter somehow fucked up the passenger door on my van so I gotta go get it fixed before I pick up anymore hoes...Thank goodness I have the next 7 updates already shot.

DWB 01-29-2009 07:44 PM

I am not. I'm actually shoot more and building more sites.

To all the companies shooting the same old shit as everyone else, what did you think would happen?

Barefootsies 01-29-2009 08:02 PM

Nope. I am still shooting the same or more scenes a month.

Feb we will shoot even more as I ramp back up one of our projects which we were kinda skimping on. Looks like another good year. :thumbsup
