the tragic irony to all this (and politics in general) is that the love affair Hope and Change will fade, the romance will be gone, everyone's expectations of "hope and change" based SOLEY on their own subjective interpretation will be disappointing as it goes unrealized, the economy will still be on shaky ground, the debt will be skyrocketing, inflation will be growing ... and peoples unreasonable and irrational expectations will go unfulfilled
...and then.... in comes the "other party" in 4 years with the same lines of bullshit as if its something that was just thought up yesterday "What we are seeing is the result of X years of social and economic policies that have clearly failed... we need something different... we need change"
...and once again, the jackasses line up to vote for a new group of idiots who are saying the exact same thing as the previous group of idiots.
... and everyone will be having the same discussions about how the other guys fucked shit up... the same arguments, same defenses, the same fucked up and wrong use of historical data out of context, same arguments out of context... yada yada yada
... all without ever once stopping to think "hmm... all this sounds strangely familiar"
maybe i'm getting old.
maybe the worlds getting dumber.
maybe both.
maybe we shouldn't be cheating nature with better medical car and improved medicines. maybe retarded kids shouldn't be wearing helmets. maybe its too late and the gene pool is polluted beyond any chance of recovery.
