So, should I go subdomains or not?
 

Want to make a pornstar directory.

Considering: pornstarname.xxx.com or xxx.com/pornstarname

What would be better in your opinion and why? I already have my thought's but more opinions would be great. k thx :)

I vote for folders.

i would say portal at www.xxx.com and directory at database.xxx.com/name , blog at blog.xxx.com , forum at forum.xxx.com , and so ... :2 cents: but i may be totally wrong ...

and I will take sub-domains for the reason that I see more likelihood of ranking more frequently.

1. xxx.com
2. pornstar.xxx.com

much more likely than

1. xxx.com
2. xxx.com/pornstar.html

Natural the portal will be xxx.com but why database.xxx.com/pornstarname and not just xxx.com/pornstarname ?

would you not be creating sub domains and pointing them to the folder name ?

Go with folders... www.domain.com/pornstarname/

at most of my sites i have also blogs, guestbooks, forums, potds, etc, so i am sorting them to subdomains ... the site looks bigger and eg database.goldpornstars.com/brigitte-lahaie looks like it is database, not like goldpornstars.com/brigitte-lahaie , that looks just like some directory on server ... i like my way, but i may be totally wrong :winkwink:

I use sub-domains cause I see it used often when searching keywords.. but I really don't know why.
