U2 Lovers/Haters - Get on your boots?
What do you think?
Personally I think they chopped down the Joshua Tree and they need to replant it, lol... |
i love U2. They aren't as good as they used to be but not bad enough where they should be forced into retirement.
I liked their older stuff better
I agree with you Spunky.
they posted part of their new single on their myspace page so naturally I got really excited. I'm gonna try listening to it again but to put it mildly I was horrified. I couldnt find anything redeeming about it. hopefully the new album coming out this spring is better. its not the first time I didnt like one of their singles only to love the rest of the album. so I have my fingers crossed
Their last good album was Achtung Baby which was released 18 years ago.
Since the Joshua Tree, I still like them but it takes a few listens for their new albums to grow on me, but they always do.
"One" was a class single as was "With Or Without You" and also "Sometimes You Can`t Make It On Your Own". :)
I love U2 also, great music and a fantastic band
Back in their day they were excellent.
Now, not so excellent. |
i only like piano music - so i hate 'em
It seems like their last few records have all had the same fate. They have a few terrible songs, a bunch of average stuff and a few songs that are amazing.
When they were in their prime with records like Joshua Tree, Rattle and Hum and Auchtung Babe the entire records were brilliant. Now they seem to show just a hint of that. I think you could take 2-3 songs off of each of their last 3 albums and make one amazing record |
Don't like them half as much as i used to.
Would still go and see them live though if i had the chance. They always put on an amazing show... |

but at the same time I got tired of whole music scene, not many things exite me there anymore also, it's just normal that the u2 guys got older, you can't really expect them to do the same shit as 15 years ago |
They are no Oasis but there alright.

Loved their song from 'Million Dollar Hotel'
I saw them live in Sydney just over a year ago and they rocked! :thumbsup
Bono has a lot of other interests now with his humanitarian work. I would still go and see them if they come back to Aus! :thumbsup |
