Weird african guy offers gold at door as present - what would you do?
 

Hey guys.

I recently moved house with some friends. About a week ago, some weird guy, bloodshot eyes - think due to fighting, not sure, but looked bad, knocked on my window. I went to the door (this was at 1am). He said he lived in the street and his wife was having a baby. He needed money for the taxi. I said sorry, I do not have cash on me - I seriously didn't but also found it a bit dodgy. But would of given him change if I had any.

Anyway, I remained friendly and wished him good luck. So, tonight, I'm downstairs. It's 12:30am

I hear a knock on the window. Same guy. He said thanks for being friendly and for trying to help him, and that he had a present for me... His baby was born etc...

So he, reaches his hand to his coats inside pocket. At that moment, I didn't know WTF he was going to get out. It was a bag, with apparently african gold. Looked weird, and found it rather suspect. What would a guy be doing with gold iof he didnt have any money for a taxi. He said he was heading off to africa in the morning for 3 months and again was looking for taxi money. I threw him some change and told him he could keep his gold. WTF would you do? Looked like weird beans - not a gold colour, is it gold or is it something else? :Oh crap:helpme

Some kind of metal that looks like gold. Some gypsies tried to sell me some of that gold looking metal when I was in highschool, that was funny, I said nope.

There's something commonly called Fool's Gold. It looks a lot like gold though, not beans. It's worthless.

WOW.. really creepy!! Is he knocking on all of your neighbor's doors or just you? I am sooo glad I live in a gated community and have a mean 120lb dog that barks like crazy anytime anyone comes near me or my house LOL

get a security camera and don't answer your door at 1 in the morning

Take all the "beans" fill up 100ml of water, drop them in, measure how much the water level increased, let's say it increased to 103ml so that's +3ml.

Next, weight the "beans". Let's say they weight in at 50 gram then you can be certain It's a high % gold.

Gold density is 19,3 so 1ml of pure gold should weight in at 19,3 gram.

and honestly, who flies to another country without money for a taxi? What if the plane gets rerouted?
