Is webcamchat prostitution ? is cam companies pimps ?

First of all, yes i have already sent this question to my lawyer but also want to check with the people here, im sure there are someone / some company that has experience with this.

Im wondering about camchat and prostitution. Prostitution is defined as recieving money for doing sexual favors for the client, and it could seem for me that this is exactly what camchat and cams is. The model recieves money for sexual things for the paying surfer.

So , is camchat prostitution ?

Is cam companies pimps ?

JaneB 02-05-2009 12:31 PM

Haha. No it is not prostitution. It is cyber sex. Hell some of the members on camsites just like to talk.

I guess if the law doesn't make a distinction between physical or non-physical contact there could be an argument there.

It's live interaction and as longs as it's not physical, it's online entertainment. :winkwink:

Is phonesex? Filming Porn? Thats a pretty broad definition. It really depends where you live/host/view would it not?

I have a related questio: what about cybersex? you know, two stupid teens "cybering" online. is that illegal? My niece is 16 and my dad caught her "cybering" with her 17 year old boyfriend.

collegeboobies 02-05-2009 01:19 PM

Ouch. He caught her in the act or found evidence of it (e.g. chat logs)?

You would be surprised at what some cities consider prostitution. I have been arrested on multiple occasions for promoting prostitution when a vice cop convinced 2 of my dancers to do a 2 girl show in one of the old style dancer booths. Each time the dancers knew there was supposed to be only 1 girl per booth, and they argued they weren't even having sex, just dancing and touching each other. That didn't stop the vice cop from arresting both of the dancers, and arresting me for promoting prostitution. Even though it never stuck, it was still a legal hassle.

So the moral to this story is don't listen to ANYONE on here's opinion unless they are actually a lawyer. If the girl is solo on cam that is one thing, but if it is a 2 girl or girl/guy show, and law enforcement in your city knows you are doing it, who knows what some asshole cop with a vendetta might try and do...

Yes that is a real crime. I have never heard of cyber sex being illegal when both parties are over 18.

notime 02-05-2009 04:04 PM

sex is a primal need, the rest was twisted by politicians, religious people and lawyers

FreeOnes 02-05-2009 04:11 PM

Good question !

If you can't get a disease from it, it's not prostitution.

Depends. If I try to rob someone by webcam I am not going to be breaking any laws...

Why would you care if it's legal or illegal?

NickB. 02-06-2009 02:05 AM

hey its better to show off on cam than to get railed by 10 cocks a day right?

Nordicprofits 02-06-2009 02:07 AM

sure, i just wonder about legality and such :) gues was pretty obvious with solo cam being legal since its just striping, but really wondering about "Couple having sex on webcam situation"

Yep. And the amount of money some of these guys are willing to pay just to casually talk to someone one on one that is hot is pretty staggering.

I was in a mainstream chatroom once and ran into a twink model. He told me that there was this married business man who was taking him private almost every day during his lunch break and they would just chat at a cost of $6 per minute.

MediaManiac 02-06-2009 02:54 AM

in my opinion webcam programs are just offering a service. instead of questioning if webcam programs are pimping you also have to put the question with the webcam studios.

LoveSandra 02-06-2009 03:56 AM

Obviously not prostitution.Only webcam sex.
