Shit man, I know girls that were making pornos in my high school, although I never saw any of the movies.

The kid who sent the picture probably didn't even know he was doing anything illegal, because of course no one was being harmed in any way. In a sane society, acts such as this where there is clearly no harm done to anyone would not be illegal, or at the very least would not be so severe a crime that the individual could have his life ruined as punishment. Another problem is that, at least in America, we seem to think that the best way to deal with anyone who, in any way, steps out of line is to throw them in prison. We literally imprison people caught with pot, or people like this kid, right alongside murderers, rapists, and gang members. It's absolutely insane, not to mention inhumane.

The difference being, when I got caught I actually did come up with better defenses or I took my licks.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

I think that the matter needs to be addressed by the parents and school but I think its too much to brand a child as a sex offender.

No crime was committed.. This is not cp in any way, not sex offenders in any way, and this isn't obscenity in any way.

The cops, lawyers, and judges that follow through with this should be hung in the street. They are a disgrace.

Teenagers fuck around - always have, always will. It sucks that behaviours teens have always engaged in - flashing, mooning, whatever - can now get 'em tagged w/ a brand that could conceivably follow them for life and ruin a normal life. I'm not even talking about a life in the public eye, here - just a humdrum existence, with a job and a family could be out of reach with a felony conviction of "sex offender" 'cos they took a tit shot when they were 15.

That just seems like it's going to end badly, all the way 'round to me.

I think shit like this is always way over rated and they make it out to be much more than it really is.

These motherfuckers are batshit insane for charging these kids with anything. The parents (and MAYBE their teachers) should resolve the issue. Some people just need to feel like they're in control of everything and they're willing to fuck up some kid's life over a dick picture.
