What was the Last FULL ....

...album you bought from a record store, itunes, Zune, or whatever??

The last full length I bought was off itunes, and it was because I wanted a couple of songs, but they made you buy the whole album. As for record store, or retail. I can't even remember last time I bought music there.

You?

:helpme

I don't remember ever purchasing a cd to be honest, maybe a metallica cassette, shows you how long since I've paid for music

I was just thinking about this the other day. Ten years ago I used to drop $100/week or so at the local cd shop. Since high speed has come along, I almost stopped completely. Now the place is closed down. Its kinda sad really. When i was much younger, saving for a new album was exciting. Getting the new release the day it came out was an event. Now its nothing.

Yep. I was the same way. I knew what music and movies were coming out every Tuesday, and even knew a place that would sell it a day early, and would make the 20 min drive one town over to get some of my favorite acts.

It is gone now. As are almost every place I used to buy from, and I would go to them a few times a week, and lord knows how much I used to blow. Especially being burned buying a whole album for one song. It sucked when music companies got greedy and eliminated the single in the 90's.

:disgust

My last bought album from a record store was Dream Theater - Train of Thought in early 2005 I think. I buy a lot of live DVD's though.

2 months ago I re-purchased the double cd Led Zeppelin Physical Grafitti I guess over the last 30 years I've probably bought that album 5 or 6 times. A couple of times on vinyl back in the 1970's, a couple of times on cassette in the 1980's and on cd in the 90's and 2000's :)

Yeah, I still buy the albums that I love. Before that, it was a Motley Crue greatest hits record, The Rolling Stones Bigger Bang album in 2006 (and the 5 or 6th re-buy of Exile On Mainstreet as well)

Claudia-Marie buys cd's all the time for her car. Though she spends most of her time listening to her ipod with songs she buys on Itunes when she is tanning or working out at the gym.

Ah ok. I used to do that in my old car. In my Escape, I bought I Pioneer deck with the ipod plug in. I almost never listen to the radio anymore. When I do, it is NPR.

I find myself listening to Sirius Satellite radio in the car a lot. For a couple of months they had an AC DC channel that was all AC DC to promote their new Black Ice album.

That channel stayed on in my car! Fucking kicked ass! "Whole Lotta Rosie", "Thunderstruck", "Highway To Hell", "Long Way To The Top", the entire "Back In Black" album...fuck damn near everything they ever did was badass! Top down driving fast with "Hells Bells" jamming is the shit!

I had thought about satalite radio. The deck came with that as an optional upgrade, as well as bluetooth.

But my business partner had it last spring or summer but had gotten rid of it. He said it was like RKR (a local rock radio station) that plays the same music over and over.

IllTestYourGirls 02-08-2009 04:07 PM

The last Dillinger Escape Plan cd

ExLust 02-08-2009 07:07 PM

AnniKN 02-08-2009 07:13 PM

Last downloadable one was Costello Music by The Fratellis and last physical disc I bought, Lycanthropy by Patrick Wolf... both were over a year ago :S

I need some new music, thanks for reminding me! I might go for the album by these guys:

in their own words: "Manos de Topo (literally Gopher Hands) is a project by serious and ellegant people."

Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings - Counting Crows, about a month ago. I have found the bands that I like have solid CD's ( imo ) and few "bad" songs on them. I tend to play a CD in the ground of my fav artists, don't listen to any radio ...

side note: AC/DC = greatest hard rock band ever :thumbsup

Spunky 02-08-2009 07:39 PM

Geez,it must have been over 20 years since I've bought one

candyflip 02-08-2009 07:40 PM

I bought like 12 Rockabye Baby albums in one shot.

Each disc is one popular artist's most popular tunes redone as lullabies.

Great chill out music.

MandyBlake 02-09-2009 12:15 AM

ummm hmmm i think it was a george michael greatest hits. a few years ago.

d-null 02-09-2009 12:22 AM

bought a few cd's in the last few months... if I really like a band I look at it like a donation of support to buy their cd :2 cents:

PSSuperstars 02-09-2009 12:26 AM

If I actually like/respect/enjoy most of the music.. I'll pay for it.

John Mayer Live - Hard CD, specialty songs on Itunes and the Blu-Ray
Britney ;) Hard CD
Kelly Clarkson
Counting Crows
and DMB....

Sorry I'm a pop music weirdo ;) Except for the Crows...
