Who kicked ass at the grammy's tonight? WHO? Oh that's right...

Robert Plant.

He and his partner (Alison Krauss) won 4 awards.

Blew the doors off all the rappers up for the same awards.

I stand corrected then... 5. I only saw 4, and the google link says 4, but 5 is better than 4, so...

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss' unorthodox partnership yielded rich rewards on Grammy night, as the pair nabbed five Grammys for their haunting CD "Raising Sand," including record and album of the year honors.

But their Grammy sweep was overshadowed by the shocking arrest of another nominee as the broadcast was taking place — teen heartthrob Chris Brown, who was in police custody for an alleged felony assault on an unidentified woman the night before. Police records showed he was being held on $50,000 bail.

Jesus, FELONY assault and only $50K bail. Thats chump change for him.

NaughtyRob 02-08-2009 11:43 PM

Looks like it was Rhianna's ass he kicked....

But the absences of Brown and Rihanna put a huge hole in the Grammy telecast. Rihanna was supposed to sing "Live Your Life/Disturbia" as the second performance of the night, Brown was later to sing "Forever." Each was nominated in the pop collaboration with vocals category, Brown for "No Air" with "American Idol" champion Jordin Sparks; and Rihanna for "If I Never See Your Face Again" with Maroon 5.

According to the police report, released 90 minutes before the show began Sunday, Brown and a woman were in a vehicle in the ritzy neighborhood of Hancock Park when they began to argue around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. Brown stopped the car and both got out, whereupon the argument escalated, the report said.

The woman, who had visible injuries when police arrived, identified Brown as her attacker, but he had left the scene, the report said. Los Angeles police officer Karen Smith says Brown walked into a station around 7 p.m. and was being interviewed by detectives.

Good stuff. Glad to see them get some recognition.

CDSmith 02-09-2009 03:47 PM

Dude even bit her.

I wonder what could be so important that it's worth arguing that viciously over and losing endorsement deals and awards and torpedoing one's career and reputation over.

Shok 02-09-2009 03:47 PM

I think Cold Play should forfeit their award to Joe Satriani

Takes an old school rocker to step in and show them country folk how it's done.

i saw the show, how else would i have come up with my OPINION?

i stand by it, my g/f concluded the same and even made a comment about it during the show.

it's ok, you don't have to defend yourself on everything man, it's just an awards show. :1orglaugh

Defending myself? We're talking about him, not me. Try to follow your own discussion.

I saw the show as well. I'm pointing out that I percieved it different from you.

Can you deal with it?

I thought that at first and then noticed she never tried to step up to the mic like
most people do so then I began to think that maybe she didn't want to talk by her own
choice and told Robert to do the talking for them

Agreed. Also, that other guy that was in their group, the tall guy, he seemed very uncomfortable with talking too. His comments were brief and no one else stepped up as you said, so without Robert up there it would have been pretty silent.

And I think most people wanted to hear what Plant had to say anyway, not the others.

Uh, relax squeaky, it's just a discussion. I simply disagreed with you, that's all. If anyone is getting his poop in a knot over it it's you. Not sure why, all I said was he deferred the mic several times, which he did.

And this is the dyna mo game. My game is much tougher.

I missed the awards. I am very happy for Robert Plant, everybody wants him to get back with Led Zep with the old stuff but what he really wanted is to experiment something else. You can still get the Led Zed feel through his songs though.

Their album is amazing. if you didn't buy it yet, it is a must have in your collection. I have it since it's release and listen to it very often without getting bored. It is really amazing :thumbsup.

Going to listen to it now :winkwink:
