A third of office workers in the UK admit to having watched pornography on their computer at work, new research has shown.

Most of the 33% who confessed to viewing inappropriate material at their desk seemed to be getting away with it too, as only 7% said they had been caught in the act.

More than half (56%) of the office workers questioned admitted to having returned to work drunk from a lunchtime pub session, while 59% said they had been taken ill in the office due to a hangover.

Many had even put drinking before work duties, with 31% having cancelled or failed to show up for a meeting because they were in the pub, according to the survey carried out by email security provider Proofpoint. The research was based on 400 responses from UK office workers.

Office romance meanwhile proved to be alive and well, with 62% of respondents saying they had had a fling with a colleague.

But romance, porn and alcohol did not appear to be stimulating enough for the 28% who admitted to falling asleep at their desk.

Meanwhile, 54% of staff said they had committed the error of hitting "reply all" on a company-wide email when their response was anything but safe for general consumption.

A quarter of respondents said they had accidentally emailed a colleague with saucy comments intended for a lover.

LOL I can believe that. But I dont think its just the UK, cause I get all sorts of hits in my stats from mainstream companys/bussiness both in the USA and the UK. Iv even had hits form a hospital website and it was'ent just one hit. So who ever it/they are, were searching for porn on purpose.

I doubt the numbers. Most companies already block porn sites at work and monitor activity. The smaller ones that don't are unlikely to add up to a third.

One of the nicest things about working in the UK is being able to squeeze in 3 pints during lunch.

I love that about working in europe. You are given personal time. Unlike in the US where you have 15 minutes for lunch and if you need to get shit done you do it on the weekend when everything is closed.

Only 400 people of 59 million where asked. Not really a good survey. Sensationalism more likely.
