How many of you watch tv while working? My productivity sucks!
I'm about to get rid of the tv in my office.
I spend most of my days in the office trying to work, but half of the time i end up playing on the internet and the other half watching tv. It's starting to become a bad habit where i have to be entertained to even consider working... The only time i get work done is between 2am-4am when the infomercials are running and im too tired to start a movie. |
I never watch TV while working, listening to music is another story :)
i was thinking about doing that myself
uh, so turn it off
I let the TV run in the background for 'company' but I don't pay too much attention to it
It sucks but I can't work in total silence. I get tired of music after a while.
TV is the only option. Just put on something sort of pointless. The talk shows like Maury Povich and all of those usually give me a laugh and don't make me take my eyes off the computer. |
Its on, doesn't stop me working.
I like to listen to music while I'm working. TV gets too distracting. Classical or trip-hop usually if I'm coding. If I'm doing any writing I'll try to select some kind of theme music to inspire the words.

My office lcd keeps my company all day. I just like the background noice and find I get a whole lot more done when it's on. I do however stop to watch something interesting, so I guess in that respect it balances out.
I listen to sports talk radio or watch CNBC.
TV, Music, Internet games aren't the problem. I guess you are working alone ( or alone on a project ). Team project motivates more.
i am happy that my tv burned out last week, i am free again! :thumbsup
soft volume radio on the background and switch off the rest
Dont have one in the office and the only time the on in the living room is on, is when my son is watching one of the kids shows or after about 9:30 PM when we sit down to watch a dvd of some sort.
