good ridence.... its sad when these guys try to play for too long and ruin somebodies rebuilding process just for their own stat bloated egos...

candyflip 02-11-2009 08:50 AM

I wonder who he'll be playing with next season.

LauraLee 02-11-2009 08:52 AM

Maybe he'll come to the CFL, we love old timers up here ;-)

Sarah_Jayne 02-11-2009 09:01 AM

and how long will that last?

Joe BrainCash 02-11-2009 09:03 AM

Bet he'll change his mind and join the vickings.. just to piss off GreenBay

MetaMan 02-11-2009 09:06 AM

What was funny was all the Jets fans calling for "jets in the superbowl" at 7-3, they sure loved him then. wow how things change.

LOL i remember laughing my fucking head off first hearing this from people. JETS? JETS SUCK

Lycanthrope 02-11-2009 09:11 AM

Who?

Oh, that guy.

Well, there isn't much love for him left up here anymore.

Though it won't happen, I welcome his joining the 'queens.

I would enjoy seeing him getting sacked and picked off in a purple uniforum.

Bitch.

justinsain 02-11-2009 09:18 AM

Stop bumping old threads. Oh wait...

sperbonzo 02-11-2009 09:22 AM

Why all the hate?

The guy was a great quarterback that loved to play the game, and was incredibly tough, playing through all kinds of injuries.
Nobody held a gun to the Jet's owners heads to hire him, and he won them 5 more games then they had won the season before.

We should all hope that we are as successful as he was.

You guys sound ridiculous. There were no more stats for him to collect, he just loved to play. I've followed his entire career and all this crap you guys are spewing just seems silly. When he was winning a superbowl he was great, but when the guy wants to hang on for one more season because this is the only life he knows, then he's an asshole??? It sounds like you guys are the kinds of sports fans that only show up to support your team when they are winning. Kinda sad, really.

i'll be the first to admit i'm a little sad to see brett go. i know he needs to retire because he's not even close to the player he once was, but it's a little sad...the end of an era.

WebairGerard 02-11-2009 09:24 AM

he was an all time great. bet the jets wished they stuck with pennington.

fatfoo 02-11-2009 09:29 AM

Yes, it is good that he is not trying to play too long like some other guys.
