Any video-ffmpeg-flash experts? The audio on my flash movies is sounding so shitty

on my site I can upload .wmv videos and they convert to flash and publish. Oh my videos the picture quality is fine, but the sound quality is really crappy. its choppy like a helicoptor.
Anyone know why?

I uploaded the same video to youtube and it came out clear. but on my site its terrible.

this is the code
$ffmpeg->setFormatToFLV(22050, 32);
Second parameter is audio bit rate.

I changed it to $ffmpeg->setFormatToFLV(22050, 256);
and its still sounds bad

what audio format and data rate are you using? maybe it's too low, lowest i go is 96

sounds like you don't have the correct codecs installed

Im not sure
I film a video and its in avi format. then I run it through windows movie maker and it comes out as .wmv format. Still clear but a little watered down.
then I upload it to my site and it gets converted to .flv
