Joaquin Phoenix On David Letterman

I had to share this.. This interview is funny as shit. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

http://watching-tv.ew.com/2009/02/joaquin-phoenix.html

Tube Ace 02-12-2009 07:15 AM

i saw that and was wondering if he was for real.

Carmine Raguso 02-12-2009 07:24 AM

What a fucking shame. I was actually embarrassed watching that :2 cents:

Klen 02-12-2009 07:25 AM

I didnt dare to watch that.

BlackCrayon 02-12-2009 07:31 AM

lol very odd

PornNewz 02-12-2009 07:32 AM

wow, that was painful to watch. He was def on something.:Oh crap

Jman 02-12-2009 07:35 AM

He's most probably acting/playing it out for an upcoming role or he wouldn't have gone on the show all wasted out.

Twistys Tim 02-12-2009 07:54 AM

I guess his has some contractual obligations to the studio to promote the movie on talk shows. Just turned up, sat there, and then left.

That's the way to ensure that you will not make another movie.

Agent 488 02-12-2009 07:57 AM

dude was most likely been up for days - twitching, picking at shit ... at least he wasn't picking at the carpet or peeking out the blinds.

Fletch XXX 02-12-2009 08:02 AM

nice one. kaufman lives!

StuartD 02-12-2009 08:14 AM

Man I hope that was all just an act... something tells me it's not, but the way he took off the glasses and had a sudden burst of energy at the end tells me that either:

a) he wanted to tell Dave what his real intentions were
b) he wanted to confront Dave for joking at his expense.

JamesK 02-12-2009 08:27 AM

I think he was acting.

i don't about that JF. he wouldn't be the first actor to go on a talk show messed up. who knows what was up with that. weird though.

Ethersync 02-12-2009 08:42 AM

I'm sure he was contractually obligated to be on the show as part of the promotion for this new film and this was his way of protesting since he had no interest in doing so :2 cents:

Sid70 02-12-2009 08:44 AM

motherfucking slow

Tom_PM 02-12-2009 09:13 AM

I didnt even know who it was until they showed the clip. And it made no difference.

MissMina 02-12-2009 10:02 AM

Thank you at least someone gets it and yes Kaufman would be very proud. By him saying he is not acting anymore he is really doing his best acting job ever. Its great entertainment. I cant wait to see the documentary and hear what he says about it.

boneprone 02-12-2009 10:31 AM

ITs all part of a marketing gimick.

Ben Afleck's bro is filming it.

boneprone 02-12-2009 10:34 AM

Puff Daddy and Afleck were laughing asses off when they were at his last show that was happening to being filmed.

If he was really that fucked up i dont think his friends would be filming and laughing.

Its all gimick for the footage and marketing.

Afleck is known for documentary film persuits.

I'm sure he is. I just dont watch many movies. I think he was in "Signs" though, which I've seen on tv.

I second that...

What a genius..... Phoenix has gone viral and is now more popular than ever.

tranza 02-12-2009 10:53 AM

Dude, I don't think this is true, maybe he was just acting... This was so funny.

nico-t 02-12-2009 11:31 AM

funny as fuck and come on its so damn obvious its just an act

SomeCreep 02-12-2009 11:38 AM

I think that Johnny Cash role went to his head.

fatfoo 02-12-2009 11:39 AM

Maybe he was on something, maybe he didn't sleep, maybe he was really nervous.

I really hope its that and that he isn't following in his much more talented brother's footsteps.

fuzzylogic 02-13-2009 12:44 AM

omg that was nuts..
here is another linkage for it https://youtube.com/watch?v=HXpYk7WGN5Y

HookUPcom 02-13-2009 12:55 AM

no... that was absolutely coke and heroine... not just one or the other. and the coke might have been crack... the heroine is the drop out... doesn't really know why... no reason to say anything but, "What did you give these guys? Nitrous?" the coke / crack was the chewy mouth... picky... Yeah, he's fucked.

correct, that end behavior is not congruent with the rest of the act.

he was chewing gum but I agree with being high on herion.

CybermedAndy 02-13-2009 01:08 AM

Cringe-inducing awkward.. like an episiode of The Office

mynameisjim 02-13-2009 01:08 AM

Having seen way too many people on drugs myself, I can say that WAS NOT the result of drugs.

He was acting and it was genius. Not sure what it was for but he played it perfect. I've seen the clip on every news show all day so he is definitely getting press for himself and his new movie and pretty much whatever he does next.

fuzzylogic 02-13-2009 01:09 AM

From discoveringjoaquin.com:

A member of the audience reports on IMDB :
"Ok, so now that it's aired, let me say that to me as an audience member, it was clear to me that it was an act. During commercial breaks he and Dave would laugh and talk cordially, and when it was over he took his glasses off, turned and waved at the audience and chuckled and had a MUCH different demeanor. It was to say "this was a joke guys! Thanks for playing along."

DWB 02-13-2009 01:31 AM

He was acting, that was not for real.

AaliyahLove 02-13-2009 01:56 AM

OMG I saw this.. I called KB and told him "this is the most uncomfortable television ever"

MissMina 02-13-2009 02:13 AM

Letterman was so funny during that interview. Letterman rules!

John-ACWM 02-13-2009 01:37 PM

Loved it.I don't know if he was on something or just acting

so, what you are saying is that JP faked being a doped-up rapper on tv so the footage can be used for a upcoming doc?

lol, he's fucking ACTING!!

HookUPcom 02-13-2009 10:41 PM

maybe... though he seems hip enough to not act like he's on drugs that he's not taking. I'm not sure that's funny... but maybe he was just doing it for publicity and he's not that cool.
