Either voluntarily or by force (weapons)

Do the same and save yourself, have some good years before you die

I agree... I was thinking about it last year when I was in position.. But then I got sick and things went downhill, it will take me a year to get back up all the way and then I will probably go into semi retirement..

Are you ever actually ahead..?

I suppose it depends on YOUR definition of 'ahead'.

I would say if the following conditions were true...

1. Had a nice chunk o' change in the bank.
2. House paid off.
3. Next to zero debt.
4. Lived in the place/state/country I wanted.
5. With/married to the chick that makes you happy....

you 'may' be ahead in the eyes of most.
