Is there a "Guide to Success in Internet Porn"??

Sounds kinda like a joke but being relatively new to this business I see allot of opportunity (even in a down market) however, it seems so many people on here have 100 different irons in the fire......and are all over the map and ADD like?

I did well for a number of years in manistream affiliate marketing and do pretty well right now using 1 simple technique to drive traffic to adult dating sites as an affiliate.

I'm looking to expand and diversify my business but honestly not sure where to start.
I have recently created a few white label cam sites and have a number of other ideas in mind.

I assume one strategy could be to buy or create a tube site or some other free site and market is as a lost leader to bring in traffic to then send off to dating, cam, VOD and other niche sites? The old centerpiece with many arms strategy...

I don't want a huge cash outlay upfront but do have some funds to invest in the right opportunity.....

I have domains for possible sites/business models in:

Recruiting talent
Creating content
Review sites
Building a Program
and more but need a specific path to follow for growth and success

I am earning "a living" at present but if anyone knows of any good reading or has any suggestions that outline possible roadmaps or strategies to success in this business.. a recommendation would be much appreciated..!!

I don't think building a guide to success would really work, all of those guides are bullshit with just basic information. You have it in you, or you don't.

:2 cents:

Praguer 02-14-2009 05:09 AM

Well, the problem with these guides and in virtually every market (not only in adult) Is that the methods are shared only once they have hit their saturation point or stopped working altogether.

Nobody shares what is curretly working and people are making a lot of money with it.

Would you share you technique for traffic to adult dating sites? Probably not.

Would I share the things I do to keep growing my business every month?
I know I would not. :)

TimmyTuna 02-14-2009 10:17 AM

understood, all good points....I guess traffic generation is the key to all success on the web.....so how you do that and what you do with the traffic once you have it will determine your success.....

EscortBiz 02-14-2009 10:19 AM

things change to quick to make guides, but here is a a tip dont do what everyone else is doing, try to innovate even slightly

you just dont know the right formula...

it goes like this:

1. log in to sponsor
2. get hosted gallery code
3. submit hosted gallery link to the hun or theshemp.com
4. sit back and watch bank account grow
5. rich

TimmyTuna 02-14-2009 12:07 PM

good suggestion...will try it....
I guess ultimately rather than a guide to success....I was just looking for a list of options and which ones are best to start with
such as:
create talent recruiting site
find talent
shoot exclusive content
sell content OR form program with it
market program

or

build tube site
market it agressively
take tube traffic and monitize it
dating sites
cam sites
VOD
paid content

or

build review site
market it
use traffic to monotize similar to above affiliate programs

Just trying to find a good "cornerstone" starting point which I can build upon and grow in an inteligent and organized manner

Blazed 02-14-2009 12:25 PM

its called trial n error , hitting roadbumps then going over these bumps...

Failure is the first step on the road to success

I'm jumping in soon, based on the fact that I believe I have an outstanding product that will serve a very small niche of loyal customers. Other than that, I don't know what else will work.

Shit, I don't even know if what I just described will work. But, I do believe the number one ingredient in any successful business is having a quality product that gives the customer satisfaction for spending his money. Doesn't matter if you're selling Easter Baskets for kids, or video that someone jerks off to.

If you just want to grab people by their ankles, turn them upside down and see what falls out of their pockets, I don't believe you'll last long.

sweet bronco!

First you have to post nude pictures of yourself on GFY, Then you have to suck lots of cock then you have to take it up the butt then you become a bro and make millions which makes you become a crackhead :winkwink:

Lots of hard work :pimp

Webmaster training (both mainstream and adult) can't be acquired from an ebook but through constant practice. Maybe a better approach would be to ask an established adult webmaster to "mentor" you. Back in the old days, that's how lawyers were trained--mentorship programs. You start doing grunt work for your mentor, then as trust grows and your ability to produce results increase, you become more like a partner.

Just my opinion. :)

james_clickmemedia 02-14-2009 07:35 PM

There was no guide 12 years ago when I started and there is no guide worth your time now. Trial and error is what works.

woj 02-14-2009 08:37 PM

people now a days are jumping ship and moving to mainstream, why would you do the opposite? I'm sure you are smart, hard working, etc, but it will probably be hard to make significant $$ in adult starting from scratch... :2 cents:

well....It took me 2 months to build mainstream revenues to $500 a week as an affiliate with ClickBank and CJ and sites like that and then it took me like 2 weeks to begin earning $500 a day in adult with dating affiliate programs....

I think the reason so many are jumping ship from adult is just as all the discussion in the seminars and workshops at InterNext and Xbiz discussed, the traditional paysite model is really being squeezed by the tubes and so much free and pirated shit on the web

BUT...IMHO...dynamic content which is interactive is still growing by leaps and bounds...it is the cutting edge of adult....(dating and cams and so on) because it is live and engaging and cannot be copied and stolen as an "experience" The main wing of the industry has not really even embrased it yet as witnessed by almost NO discussion of it or topics addressing it at the 2 recent afore mentioned "shows"

Mainstream can be profitable as well but in this economy, adult is much easier
Porn is a 13.5 Billion dollar a year business.....thats bigger then the NFL, NBA and MLB combined......theres still PLENTY of money to be made here...with the correct and timely strategies and products.....:thumbsup

The Booming e-Porn Business
By Mark Evans | May 13, 2007

Pornography has always been one of the dirty little secrets of the high-tech world. No one wants to talk about it much but porn is not only a huge online business but one of the most innovative industries in embracing new technology. The online porn industry’s size is colorfully illustrated by this video produced by Good Magazine, which provides the following titillating details (my apologies for the puns!):

- there are 372 million porn pages on the Web
- 25% of all search requests are porn related
- “sex” is the most popular search request
- $2.84-billion of online porn revenue was generated in the U.S. last year
- 12% of Web sites are porn-related
- the leading porn site is adultfriendfinder.com, which receives 7.2 million unique visitors a month (#49 overall)
- 89% of all online porn produced in the U.S.

When it comes to technology, the porn industry was one of the first to embrace the VCR, e-commerce and streaming video. It’s all about supply and demand.

Please don't try to sell already free google links for $25 a piece and then pretend to make contributions to a "how to succeed" guide.
