Lets discuss coffee.

I'm not talking about the local Starbucks store. I'm talking about what you drink at home.

Do you grind your own, grind it at the store, or buy something already ground?

What's your favorite kind?

Dirty D 02-14-2009 10:38 AM

Local Italian spot that roasts the best coffee in town.

Buy the whole bean, grind it and make espresso based drinks.

Keeps the porn flowing :)

cherrylula 02-14-2009 10:44 AM

I've started trying the local New Orleans brand coffees. Pretty good stuff, but I don't care much for the bitter chicory kind.

there is some really good french vanilla decaf sold locally, I drink it with vanilla soy milk it rules. :)

grumpy 02-14-2009 10:45 AM

grind my own and have an espresso machine

notime 02-14-2009 10:46 AM

Nespresso is my favorite with different coffees

chupachups 02-14-2009 10:46 AM

I am looking to get a machine with pods. Anybody got some experience? Are they good, worth it etc?

Quagmire 02-14-2009 10:51 AM

Tim Horton's is nothing short of Canadian Crack. You can get the tins to brew your own at home, which I do... Frequently.

I am convinced there must be some addictive chemical they put in this stuff because I absolutely love Tim Horton's coffee.

I buy whole beans and grind them when I want to make a pot. I buy from a place called moon doggie. They have excellent, high quality stuff.

One of my favs is ST. PATRICKS DAY 2009 IRISH KISS *OUR SWEET BUTTERSCOTCH TOFFEE*.. Fucking YUM!

geedub 02-14-2009 11:19 AM

i grind at the store, usually get something bold. i drink it black, so i like to alter my flavors with different beans. right now i have this ethiopian roast that's pretty incredible.

jollyperv 02-14-2009 11:22 AM

You gotta grind it fresh for every pot/cup, huge difference. Lately french press is my favorite, comes out perfect as long as the water is just below boiling, the grounds are the correct size and you let it steep for 3 minutes. Been digging peets and trader joes french dark roast.

Loch 02-14-2009 11:38 AM

Grind my own of course, only way to go.
Brand: Kick Ass from Kicking Horse :) "for you that does not know it its not a joke" lol

quiet 02-14-2009 11:43 AM

i'm a big pussy and gave up coffee, nothing but green tea at home...

HomerSimpson 02-14-2009 11:46 AM

I drink only Espresso in cafe's... mostly Lavazza....
Don't drink that shit that sells in gallons and is made from god-knows-what...

Bama 02-14-2009 11:46 AM

Folgers tastes just fine to me along with Irish Cream creamer.

Folks that buy the expensive stuff and grind their own because they think they have a "discerning palate" are the same folks used in the Pizza Hut commercials thinking they're eating some Italian Chef's pasta.....

Rochard 02-14-2009 12:17 PM

I don't drink coffee. Hate the stuff.

NaughtyRob 02-14-2009 12:18 PM

Folgers or Maxwell House. Old school.

D-Money 02-14-2009 12:19 PM

Organic flavored coffee.

F-U-Jimmy 02-14-2009 12:22 PM

I didn't used to like coffee and drank 16 cups of tea a day in the UK. But now that I live in San Diego I have grown to love coffee, I even brought my own coffee shop so now I can make any type of coffee I like from Blue Mountain to fair trade Organic Blue Sky with the best equipment available. It makes a huge difference's to the taste when you use pro equipment. :)

BV 02-14-2009 12:25 PM

i'm drinking this right now:

I'm a big fan of Iced Tea during the summer. Thinking of switching to Green Tea this year. Any particular kind you think would be best for that?

Green tea is a good idea... I know several people that have lost weight and increased there over all general health drinking green tea alone..

SexualDragon 02-14-2009 01:15 PM

I only do instant

blonda80 02-14-2009 02:57 PM

black coffee, huge :)

Kinky John 02-14-2009 03:09 PM

espresso

Elli 02-14-2009 03:23 PM

I was loving the organic family-grown and roasted beans I got while in Mexico, but ran out a month ago. :( Now I'm back on Nabob's pre-ground stuff "tradition" blend.

CDSmith 02-14-2009 03:35 PM

I just buy the extra fine grind and run it through my 12 cup dripper,

that's plenty good enough for me and tastes better than most "coffee place" coffee, to me anyway.

Deej 02-14-2009 03:41 PM

I grind my own, right now i have 3 kinds i switch through... espresso, sumatra, and some organic shit my mom got me for christmas, its pretty good.

I ALWAYS use a french press... once you use this method you will hate all other coffees...

also, you can never look back to folgers or something similar... so nasty tasting to me now... i used to drink it for days... but now i cant stand it.

IM telling you... get a french press :2 cents:

After Shock Media 02-14-2009 03:44 PM

I buy small amounts of whole beans, keep them vacuum sealed (re seal them after each use) and grind before using. We buy our coffee weekly from a local roaster.

I have some friends that have one. The coffee is pretty good, but not the same as what I do at home.

munki 02-14-2009 05:08 PM

I grind up Trader Joe's Kona... absolute fave besides a coffee shop iced mocha... There's a lil place named monkey house up the street that makes awesome mochas...

whats it called a sensio?

I had some and yes ill agree the coffee is good... but i wouldnt want to supply the pods... my friend says shes pays 15 bucks for 20 pods...

no thank you...

my french press defeats all!

NicelyWritten 02-14-2009 05:17 PM

I drink the Tim Hortons fine ground coffee available in the tin cans. Other than that, most things I've had in tins have tasted like ass. Now the stuff you can grind yourself at the supermarket is pretty good.

tical 02-14-2009 05:38 PM

i've been splitting dunkin donuts whole beans with kona beans 50/50

pretty damn good :)

Ross 02-14-2009 05:51 PM

I drink water. Much better for you and keeps you refreshed :)
