Film - Deep Cover

Watched an older film this weekend, Deep Cover..

--
Deep Cover is a 1992 crime thriller film starring Laurence Fishburne and Jeff Goldblum.

Plot::
A black uniformed policeman is recruited by a devious drug enforcement agent to infiltrate a smuggling organization seeking to expand into designer drugs.

I enjoyed this film and is one of the better "drug" films..

My Rating 8/10

That movie kicks ass, it's with Lawrence Fishburne and Jeff Goldblum.... really good early 90's undercover cop thriller. And who can forget the main song to its soundtrack:

It wasn't bad but SCARFACE is still the number one "drug exploitation" film of all time with KING OF NEW YORK coming in a close second.

OH hells yeah.. Deep Cover, King of New York, both brilliant movies for totally different reasons. Brilliant performers in both, another one to throw in the hat of 90's drug movie brilliance would be the movie True Romance. Just epic amount of stars in that movie from top to bottom, The fact that its Tarantino written, The way the story ebbs and flows... man.. if you haven't seen it.. you really should.

Fuck YES - totally agree! Best Fucking Tarentino script ever, and best fucking Tony Scott film ever. Tony Scott actually looked to visualize the Tarentino thing better than Tarentino himself.

Actually I saw this film before I saw Reservoir Dogs and hadn't been following Tarentino and I thought someone had actually adapted an Elmore Leonard novel correctly for the first time, but then it turned out to be a Tarentino script.

Not sure I'd consider this a drug film though even though drugs were involved, but I definitely didn't want the movie to end (same feelings I had watching Scarface and Road Warrior - that's why films like this are dangerous to suscetible minds like mine :thumbsup):1orglaugh

VIP_xxx 02-17-2009 03:51 PM
