Am leaving adult biz and want to know best way to dispose of my online assets....?
Hello PPL,
I'm getting out of the adult website biz/hobby at the urging of my wife... been in it for over 10 years, but it ain't what it used to be back then. I have a pretty good domain name (tgpgallery [dot] com) that I've had since the start and want to know the best way I can offload it and not get ripped off. I'd probably have to get it appraised first but I've read that valuation sites are a scam, unless anyone knows a good way to value it? Thanks in advance, Lorix. |
Good luck from now on Lorix..

Post the info here. You'll get what it's worth.
|
Ok, well my main site tgpgallery[dot]com is the primary one I would sell - what would people here value it at?
|
5000-10000 dollars.
|
feel free to donate it to ... um ... me lol
:thumbsup |
under $500 if someone is willing to give you that even
|
tgp galleries are so hot right now
|
If you have other aged domains you are interested in selling, drop me a line at the email in my sig.
|
Don't sell it. Turn the site into an online museum. People will need to know what a TGP Gallery was in a few years.

You're such a fucking idiot. Why don't you go find a conspiracy forum and post there instead with your lunatic buddies. Dumb faggot. |
post it up in the buy and sell section

Best way is to attract as many possible buyers ->
Sell it at biggest marketplaces, pay few dozen bucks for extra promotion. Don't park it as You'll lose SE traffic, returning visitors, traffic trades, and sooner or later You'll lose PR. Here is list of domain marketplaces. I would try all of them. Moniker got great Escrow, but Sedo and Afternic have more attention. Afternic costs 20$ one time fee to register but I think it's worth it if You want to sell at highest price. :) ENJOY. http://www.webmasterinter.net/2008/0...ce-comparison/ |
Thanks to everyone for the good advice so far. Aside from the fiscal advice, I actually like junction's (albeit jokingly) idea of making it a museum. ;)
Like I said, the industry aint what it used to be, but it's good to remember what it was like... yes the good old days! As an aside I wouldn't mind hearing anyone else's experience who has been in the biz for about 10 years. Myself, I made more in the first 2 years (1999-2000) than I did in the rest of the years since combined. Something happened between 2000 - 2002 that rapidly caused the adult market to contract, and this was before the dotcom crash..... Can anyone else relate? |
MGP's and cookie theft

|
Great domain. Best of luck in your future ventures, man.

Trying to start a TGP today is not like it use to be and blogging and tubes are the future so the domain without a current site/traffic isn't worth as much as it could be but good luck with selling it and stuff! |
It would be based partly on how much traffic it gets and how much revenue you make from it.

It's fixed and back up now in all it's glory :) Still, it's hard to complete with those damn video sites like Youporn, Redtube, etc that seem to have taken much of the traffic these days. :disgust Back in 2000 I made over 180K (gross) across all my sites. Take away expenses I was still left with very healthy profit. Sadly the following year was less than half that and the same again the following. It's like Moore's law running in freaking reverse :( Guys - feel free to share your details if you like, but how does your best year back then compare to how you are doing now? |
What is the average income from say 6 months?
