Goodbye Epassporte
 

I was using epassporte since 2003 - without any problems.
now they need some docs to verify my account, what a joke.

they want :
* Any formal, government issued proof of address (not including ID). This can usually be obtained at your local post office, or other local government agency.
* A bank-statement
* A utility-bill (phone, electricity, water, gas, etc...)

* Government Issued Photo ID

Whats next ? Fingerprints ? Color of my wifes undies ? My DNA ? :(

So i decided not sending the required docs, and say goodbye.

Anyone else ?

So you are complaining someone who is holding your money in a similar way to a bank wants the same identification that a bank requires? It is for your own safety so they can verify you are you and not someone pretending to be you.

Next thing you know they're going to ask you for DNA! :)

Fo sho bro. I wasn't being sarcarstic. I know for a fact this post reached the highiest echeleons - the CEO! He was mid way through his turtle soup when he was delivered news of this thread. He was like "Fuck you useless cunts have failed me again! We have lost the PantieZ account!" He then hurled the soup bowl at his incompentent staff and retired for the evening... no doubt stewing on this missed opportunity.

And then he used mind choke on one of his employes.

So some institution that made your life comfortable is suddenly making it uncomfortable for you to hide money and you are going to call them out. Thanks for the heads up. I will make sure that everything is in order because according to you ePassporte wants a utility bill you can't provide. Seriously,... this should be no issue if you aren't bouncing around. (and trust me, I don't want to hear stupid business"organization" stories)

Everybody needs to send the docs when the balance exceeds $5000.

Wise move, the banks charge only $15.00 per check but there's always Chio's flawless solution I guess...

I love Epassporte but do you have an idea how much fraud is going on with Epassporte? Most fraud affiliates use Epassporte as the payout method and a couple days ago we had to make some changes at Fetish Hits and new accounts that want to switch to Epassporte need to verify their ID.

my balace is always about a few hundred bucks ... i only used it to buy content and pay for other services to other epass owners, and get paid by sponsors.

Once your account reaches a certain amount ($5000), they require the authentification.
Nothing wrong with that. They will not ask you again once you send in the docs.

I dont see why is this frustrating to you or anyone
their service is very useful, people from east Europe will be lost without epass.

epass loves their ID docs, I submitted them to keep my account active then a couple of months later when I wanted to set up wires they wanted the same docs again.

I hate it too. Most americans seem thrilled to send all their private info to a company that at least in my mind is worlds away from being a regular bank, I really don't get it.

ID docs sent.. don't really like to send docs, but like to keep my account active

So you trusted them enough to have (im guessing) thousands of dollars of affiliate programs payments that you earnt paid into your account for over 5 years but you're worried about sending them "private docs" only to prove your identity?

when was the last time a bank asked you for a bank statement
with all their problems i would be afraid that money would suddenly disappear from a real account if i gave them my bank statement (with all my account info on it)

I am asked for docs as well, but it seems I'm asked for less?

As a security measure and for your protection, we require you to provide the following account verification information within the next 29 days in order to authenticate your Account:

1) A photocopy of a valid government-issued photo ID.

2) A copy of a recent bank statement or a copy of a utility bill (i.e. phone, water or gas) with your name and address as shown on your ePassporte account clearly displayed

I did this, no big deal.

- When I moved into my secure unit, i had to show them these ID's and paper work.
- Getting a credit card - same.
- Getting my photo ID at a RTA - same.

There is so much ID fraud out there, I don't mind them taking these extra steps to make it more secure.

oh so you only paid, bought and got paid using epassporte? doesnt sound like you even need epass at all... :)

It was a huge pain in the ass for me, I haven't gotten a utility bill in years, and don't have anything with my name on it... Took a few days for me to come up with some paperwork that epass would accept, but they did and I haven't had a problem since.

... Not crazy about the change myself, it's a pain in the ass.
I'm at a live-in school and my docs don't match my address; I won't be able to get the required papers in before the deadline they've given me.


Looks like I'm going over to checks for a while at least.

For everyone who says "whats the big deal" or "just like a bank "

I should remind you epassporte is not a bank , you get no interest , your money is not insured and you would never have opened an account without i.d. so thus the bank would never "seize" your money.

I should also remind you , you have no idea where your id is stored , what countries nationals have access to your id, what safeguards are in place to protect your id etc etc.

Epassporte has everything needed to thieve your identity.

Remember 9/11 , all those terrorists had fake identities they stole from someone , likely by hacking or having a plant in an org just like this.

In the usa you have a reasonable expectation that when you show your id at the bank , it is an american checking the i.d. and you have legal options if they dont honour your privacy, all this goes out the window when you willingly give your id to someone who may or may not be american , who may or may not be bound by privacy laws, who may or may not be linked to a terrorist organization.

Fist they take on your identity, then they use your money to buy bomb materials and a plane... and then they bomb the whole wordl! I knew ePassporte was out for global domination!

If you don't want to send them your documents, don't. That's pretty simple. Bitching about their policies on GFY won't change them. Plenty of people send in their documents and they could probably care less if you stop using them to protect your privacy.

and yes bitching on gfy can do good , maybe they will disclose their privacy policy, disclose their employees privacy policies and disclose what methods they use to protect your identification so their customers feel comfortable , like every other bank you put your money in. :2 cents:

It's a Visa policy called "know your customer". A copy of your ID and a untility bill isn't very private, stop whining already.
