Are Blog Reviews Worth It?
 

We've been getting a lot of emails from people recently to do sex toy product reviews for our site in exchange for a free toy. Although we could ask for it back, but..well ya know :)

I'm just wondering if anyone had any experience with people doing blog reviews of products or even there site, and if it translated into any positive traffic/conversion etc?

I can certainly see more a more high profile blog like fleshbot sending some positive traffic, just not sure about random blogs.

depends whos doing the review, fleshbot is certainly one to consider, they have linked my blog(s) before, and have gotten great results.

I would check up the backlinks, etc on the site before dishing out any free products.

...its the other way around. That is, the manufacturer or retailer sends the products out to news sites, blogs, review sites. So, if you're going to do it, be selective and send it to well known and reputable web sites. Of course, building up goodwill with the new sites is good also, you never know which one will be the 'Next Big Thing.' LOL

We get those requests all the time for Miracle fruit and first i would send out a free box. Then I noticed that a lot of them were just looking for something free. But we get less people saying they blog and more people claiming to be launching a magazine.
