Is The Word 'Black' Racist In Itself ???

A girl i know works at the local hospital. She was going to get a drink for one of the patients, and referred to it as a black tea.

"can i have a tea with no milk or sugar?"

"a black tea? ok i'll get it for you just now"

And bam!!!! Reported, and given a warning!!

I've never heard of anything so ridiculous in my life.
Why don't we just delete the word "black" from the English language altogether if it's gonna get so many people into trouble. Refer to anything as black now (even when it is) and you get accused of either upsetting someone, or being a downright racist.

I think that she got her terminology wrong but I can't see the problem....Normally tea is referred to as no sugar or milk while coffee without sugar or milk is considered "black"...

If I were her, I'd start looking for another job because those muthafuckas are too sensitive......I think it's best to complain about REAL racism and not this bullshit.

burntfilm 02-26-2009 10:24 AM

seems like it, had this experience with a blog script
http://www.burntfilm.com/blog/editor...t-blog-script/

more funny than anything really lame

BVF 02-26-2009 10:25 AM

Maybe she should've called it "African American Tea"....I'd also slip something into that person's applesauce for snitching on me....

kmanrox 02-26-2009 10:26 AM

i want to report BlackVaginaFinder for being racist. he finds only black vaginas. ok like 1 or 2 white ones cuz he couldnt find and blackies those days i guess.

Ok I'm reading it a little closer and maybe they just warned her to make the patient happy...If so, I sure hope that they pulled her to the side and let her know that they were just bullshittin...If they REALLY warned her plus wrote her up, I'd quit and take that shit to the news...Fuck that shit.

Yet you're in Scotland so who knows what goes on over there....

skrinkladoo 02-26-2009 10:28 AM

That is ridiculous.

Its racist alright, but only from the person who reported it --- who is obviously a racist.
It doesnt matter if your black, you can still be the racist.

Why is black more racist than red, or yellow?

Not for nothing but if this exact situation happened to me, everyone envolved would have lost their job, and I'm white.

Crazy !! Will Smith starring in "Men In Ebony" :1orglaugh

Splum 02-26-2009 10:29 AM

Yes.

Can you imagine if any news host besides Fox said "our nations first black president" which actually is funny in itself because he isnt black at all, he is half white too. This whole period in time is a fucking joke.

BabeHunter 02-26-2009 10:29 AM

So now African American own the word black?

jmcb420 02-26-2009 10:33 AM

Thats just stupid. People take the P.C. shit way to far these days. If I were the person given a warning for referring to a cup of tea as black tea, I would look for a new job and talk to a lawyer. Something tells me that the employer has no business repremanding an employee over such stupid shit.

My brand of cigarettes are called superkings... They come in green, (Menthol) blue (Lights) and black (Normal) varieties...

Driving thru London on night, I stopped at a small shop to buy some ciggys... BIG BLACK DUDE behind the counter...

I stroll in and say '20 Superkings Black, Please'

The look I got was filthy... Made me feel really uneasy... So I paid and got back in the car... Then I got to thinking...

I hadn't gone in there with a racist thought in my head... I was just ordering my cigs in a normal manner, using the correct names and description...

But I was made to feel almost as if I had gone in and shouted 'Boy! Fetch me my Ciggys now you BLACK N1gger!' and... that certainly wasn't the case...

So my answer is that the word black itself isnt racist.. Its the interpretation of it... Rightly or wrongly...

They had her in the office and gave her a written warning. Explaining how any words which "may cause offence" should never be used by staff in the hospital environment.

She couldn't believe it, but accepted it, as bacially she started to believe she did make a mistake, under pressure obviously. Only when she got home she began to think about it again and realise this situation is a joke. I'm sure it's not the end of the matter...

Loryn 02-26-2009 10:39 AM

No you got the title wrong, you mean, "Blacks" are racists themselves!!! :1orglaugh

Love you BVF!!! But I have met quite a lot of black people who do not like white people and I think we need to put racism on all people not just a white to a black thing.

Okay I am in a deep project right now so I won't be able to reply until later. :disgust

MetaMan 02-26-2009 10:40 AM

this is why i always use negro or nig nog this way when i am not sounding racist people congratulate me not the other way around.

"would you like summa dat negro tea?"

Yngwie 02-26-2009 10:42 AM

in my opinion this whole racist shit is getting way out of hand.. Actually, I should say has been way out of hand for a very, very long time. can't use black, dark or whatever others may find "racist" Give me a fucking break. People need to stop taking shit the wrong way.

So I guess if I go to a place and ask "can I get a coffee.. black" and the waiter/waitress is black and they flip out and call me racist are they right or just fucking idiots?

Had I said "hey, can I get a coffee.. BLACK like your n i gg er ass" then ya, that would be racist, but that's not the case here.

Typical Scotland. We pussy foot about things like that. Our country is bullshit. Every morning in Toronto I go to the Starbucks downstairs from my apartment and I order a Venti Black Tea. Its a black girl who serves me. The first time I asked for it I just said a Venti tea. She asked me "Venti black tea"? I said yes. So now I order it like that.

John-ACWM 02-26-2009 11:41 AM

Some people want to get in a fight with the most ridiculous reasons...

yeah, I would call it a plain tea...black tea is actually a specific type (like green tea or white tea)...those people probably let real racism slide because they are too busy jumping all over stupid crap like that...
