Sadly that is going to happen the second word leaks that your money may no longer be insured in the bank. Even though they are backed by the US Gov, that doesn't make me feel any better.

Personally, I never keep more in a US bank than I'm willing to lose. Been that way for years after a small run in with the IRS about 10 years ago where they helped themselves to one of my accounts and cleaned it out, without warning, due to a late payment. From that day on my outlook was different about how I stored my money.

They have to nationalize the banks this is getting nuts. They have to make a bold move,not these half assed ones.

SO...what are people here planning on doing in the mean time. I don't think the mattress saving is the best way to go, and gold is going to be tough to sell when nobody's $ is good. :)

no but how much money government is going to pump into them? it doesnt seem to be working. how many are you going to let go down the toilet? Did you read the article? We are getting into really scary time. The let it take care of itself sounds nice but as someone whose living depends on people using credit cards its scary.

Fuck it. If the dollar is worth zero we are all in the same boat. Whats going to happen? Everyone is going to stop using EVERYTHING? Cars will stop running? TVs will stop working? Fuck it.
