Is this a fraud sale?

Hello,
I am new to this affiliate system, I would really appreciate your replies and comments but not making fun out of this silly question

I have friends who sign up for porn sites by directly going to the site and sign up. What I did that I sign up as a webmaster and told my friends to sign up from my link so that I could get some bucks. On doing this, they got the account, I even got sales but at the end of the month, I got an e-mail telling me I did fraud sales and I will not receive the money. Please let me know was it a legal sale or not?
Thanks!

Seems like it :(

John. 03-07-2009 12:51 PM

Did your friends cancel their memberships maybe?

EscortBiz 03-07-2009 12:53 PM

Got a URL for us where you send your friends for a few bucks ?

james_clickmemedia 03-07-2009 04:36 PM

yes thats fraud as there is no way for the program to make money if your friends cancel before the monthly re-bill. We do like the chance of making money.

HorseShit 03-07-2009 04:55 PM

anyways, they probably flagged it for fraud because your ratio was 5:5 lol

but did they refund those 5 sales then? Cause that would be cheating on their part if they took the members money but didn't pay the affiliate or am I missing something.. I could see how programs might frown on this when doing $100PPS days or something but..

AnniKN 03-07-2009 06:33 PM

If he says "some bucks" I am guessing it's a revshare program, if he made other sales and they're cancelling him because of a too high ratio and it's not a PPS case where the friend cancelled the trial then I do find it unfair...

After all, he could have simply asked for a "review pass" and give it to his friend for free instead ;) now THAT would be worse for sure? we need more info though, to make a final call.

Thinking on brick and mortar stores... you won't deny that it'd be better to sell stuff to my friends with employee discount or commission, than to steal from the warehouse for them, no?

It's still a fraud if it you break the terms and conditions ( assuming the terms of the program in question says you can't have friends or relative sign up through your aff link).

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 03-07-2009 06:39 PM

Networks don't like you incentivizing their sales. Makes it too easy for you to spot all the shaving, scrubbing, and assfucking they are doing to their affiliates.

Iron Fist 03-07-2009 07:29 PM

always strange if a new affiliate that no ones heard of makes a sale with less than 1:10 to join page.

and it probably doesn't help either if the "friend" is signing up with bogus info or using the same address/information as you are.

see that is the type of fraud I've seen before and I would just think you'd want to refund the sale before the CB.. I guess not dealing with trials or PPS with my own program I don't deal with all the tricks that cheating affiliates try to do

but when i get a new affiliate that makes sales right off the bat i always try to track where his sales/clicks are coming from and sometimes email affiliates if the site they sign up with isn't a live adult site

I smell something very fishy!!!

mmcfadden 03-07-2009 11:00 PM

If a program pays so high on PPS... why not just phrase it "I will send you $200 dollars if you sign up for my program and I feel you are worth it!"

BTW... I will send you $200 dollars if you promote one of my sites... vstrippoker.com and feel you are worth it!

helpanewbie 03-08-2009 03:27 AM

sure, my ratio was

3:3 so is it kind of a fishy thing? and what should the ratio be that should not sound and look fishy lol?

helpanewbie 03-08-2009 03:29 AM

and I dont understand why would I be flagged because I have 3:3 ratio?

Fishy, yes. But if you legitimately talked your friends into getting a membership, then you should be paid. If none of them rebilled, then that is the program's fault. They could term you for sending underproductive traffic, but you should still be paid up to that point.

TeenCat 03-08-2009 08:14 AM

oh lol people you are funny ... i read first few replies about cancelling etc ... are you that ill? he stated here that he send friend to site for buying a membership for him, to make few bucks, he sent there just those few friends to make him some bucks, and i bet it was pps sales ... what the hell are you thinking about? oh guys its a weekend, but wake up ... and man, go fuck yourself, you landed at the wrong board ...

You know damn well if he talked his friends into getting a membership they aren't rebilling. "Legitimately" doesn't apply here. Sending family or friends is against the TOS of most programs.

Its not the programs fault they aren't rebilling. Its the affiliate using the "sign up under my link and cancel" sales technique. He shouldn't see a dime. If hes paid and terminated for unproductive traffic he can rinse wash and repeat the same scam over and over using numerous epass accounts, aliases etc.

This is why some sponsors block eastern bloc countries. It's not that you're inherently dishonest, it's just that you seriously don't see why cheating is wrong :1orglaugh

No it wouldn't be the programs fault they aren't rebilling... but it is the program's fault setting up such ridiculous payouts which are set to fail in the first place.

I am glad we agree. Your additional comment is another topic all together.

TeenCat 03-08-2009 11:03 AM

i am signed up to almost every program, anyone want to change some pps signups? :)

SmokeyTheBear 03-08-2009 11:23 AM

You wont get any sympathy from gfy. Those huge pps payouts you were after are for incentive not for you to make some extra cash signing up your friends. You arent ripping them off as much as you are ripping off other affiliates who send real join that turn into real profit.

p.s. thank you for keeping the record of "is this a scam" at 100%
