Camcorder Techie Question

My cam is a SONY VX2100. 3 chip.

It has not been touched for six months. Today I take it out to test it, and I am getting a magenta colour cast.

This carries through when I play back a new recording.

Old recordings are fine.

I figure I have to take it back to SONY.

But any techies have any thoughts, please lay them on me. I prefer to have some knowledge before going in

Thanks

Have you tried changing the white balance settings? Point it to a white wall and do a custom white balance and see if that cast goes away....

You may have it setup to white balance for fluorescent lights which record on video as green. The way to correct that is for the camera to add magenta (the opposite of green). So your white balance may be setup to add magenta for a fluorescent lighting situation.

Checked that. Good idea, but not the solution.

I also get green banding. I am guessing the blue chip is the problem.

Bump.

Still hoping.

Going back a long way we had a problem with one of those going between a green / magenta cast and I think that was a ccd issue.
