Digsby or Pidgin users...HELP!
Hi guys,
I was using Pidgin successfully on my new laptop for the last 2 weeks, and today an upgrade to 5.5 was required as ICQ stopped connecting. I upgraded, and needless to say, I cannot connect to any services through Pidgin. Thinking it might just be the new upgrade, I tried Digsby, and I got the same errors. It was an authentication error. Trillian is even giving me the same thing. I tried the ICQ client as a standalone and this worked, which I find odd being as nothing else is working. Is anybody using Vista 64 and having problems with these clients at all? I checked my firewall and none of these apps are blocked. For a lil background, I'm using a Sony Vaio vgn-fw373j # 2.4 Ghz (T9800) Intel® Core? 2 Duo Processor # 1066Mhz Front Side Bus Speed http://www.amazon.com/Sony-VGN-FW373.../ref=de_a_smtd |
maybe there is a beta release in updates that fixes this.

I just upgraded 10 mins ago and everything is working fine (WinXP Home). Download and reinstall the upgrade again maybe?

Are you using 64 bit? The new upgrade works on my other 32 Bit Vista machine, but not this 64. :Oh crap |
I wish I could help you with vista mang. I never liked it and have only used it as sparingly as i could.

Check what version of gtk+ you are running. I know the new pidgin made me update it.

If it helps at all, no TGP autosubmitters are able to connect to the internet either. A lot of applications that connect to the internet that worked on Vista 32 seem to be unstable on this computer for some reason. :(

Sorry to hear that, man. I used Pidgin for a few months. Sucked ass. I'm back on Trillian now.

noticed this today too, haven't updated yet though.

IM clients
On the topic of IM clients. I use Digsby, Pidgin, and Adium on various computers. I have also recently started to look at Voxox. Has anyone else tried this beta release?
