Techimedia: simple ticket request 4 hours so far
People who host there: what's the normal ticket response time?
I asked to create three pop3 accounts for my domains. It's been 4 hours. Is this normal? :helpme |

Have to create a ticket to make email accounts? Damn...

If you did not add a high urgency to your ticket it could take a little bit of time, as the techs could very well be dealing with other tickets that were listed higher. Often tickets can take just minutes for simple tasks, however they do get busy on occasion and small things with low urgency can take a bit of time. Also check actual ticket center for a response, sometimes it may be waiting for a reply and the email did not make it through. Personally I would not trade their hosting for any other.

2 to 3 minutes for first response. I think you're full of shit, personally.

Dude you must be nuts techie never takes more than a few mins to do any tickets unless maybe they are waiting on some reply from you for something? This simply just does not happen with techie so there must be more to this story.
|
You have this thing with bashing hosts don't you?
I remember you starting shit with natnet because they don't offer ICQ support (any host who does it just asking for trouble IMO) I hosted with Techie for years and support was the best thing about them. Unless you intentionally set a "low" priority on the ticket when creating it, I don't believe your story. Not to mention, is a new email account a critical thing? It's keeping you from making money right now because you don't have "[email protected]" ?? Gimme a fucking break |
All of my tickets (37 on one account alone) look like this:
February 23, 2009, 2:22 pm by xxxxx Task created by xxxxx February 23, 2009, 2:23 pm by Cyril Transferred to Cyril February 23, 2009, 2:23 pm by Cyril Status changed to In Progress February 23, 2009, 2:45 pm by Cyril Email Sent: fixed, please check. |

Not normal at all, when I file a ticket, no matter how complex I get an answer/action within seriously 2-3 minutes at the most. 22 tickets... all look like this February 3, 2009, 4:08 pm by amateur Task created by amateur February 3, 2009, 4:10 pm by Eugene Transferred to Eugene February 3, 2009, 4:10 pm by Eugene Status changed to In Progress February 3, 2009, 4:13 pm by Eugene Email Sent: Done, check please. February 3, 2009, 4:13 pm by Eugene Status changed to Waiting for Response February 4, 2009, 7:35 am by Pavel Status changed to Closed |

ok. |
Davey jones, first of all let me in on something, we answer the phone, icq emails and Tickets withinn 2 mintes ALWAYS. OK now I just looked at your ticket and it was done in approx 1/2 hr but then you wanted to make some changes to the user names, but you wanted an @ symbol in the email user name, we do not allow that and that was explained to you in the ticket. Since then we have been waiting on you to reply to the ticket, and also we have sent you ICQ qnd you havent replied to that either. Not sure what more I can do for you?
Sorry if i made some typos...LOL And a great big thanks to all of you who posted here on our behalf. |

So I created a ticket at Techimedia. Very simple task, add 3 pop3 accounts. I selected Medium urgency. It's been about 5 hours now. And I just got a reply that says: "Sorry, but login can't contain @." Since when can't pop3 account usernames look like this: [email protected] LOL. |

Login: [email protected] Password: 123456 I have this set up like this on other hosts and it's easy and not messy. |
Now show the rest of the ticket.

i set up all my own catchalls and email accts with webair you gotta email to have that done?
|
Davey Jones now you just crossed the line dude. Those logs you just posted are a nice Photo Chop of thew complete ticket logs. Would you like to admit this or shall I post the complete logs wiith the real and accurate Times and full logs from my techs?

Ticket was opened several hours ago and it's still not resolved. I simply asked to set up a few pop3 accounts. |

This is not normal for them. But shit happens so I would call. If you have been there a while you know stuff like this is normally done in minutes.

Dude shut the fuck up IDIOT. Nobody here asked for a host referral, TechieMedia is by far one of the best in the biz, and if anyone wants to pretend thjey are a teech they also can get a control panel to set up emails. This Davey Jones dude is an idiot and hasnt replied to jim once. I've been with Techiemedia a long time and they blow the doors of most hosts and are by far one of thew best hosts and networks in the biz....... Now go piss off shit head. |
Quote:
HUH? "stupid stuff?" Setting up email via control panel takes seconds, it takes longer to send a ticket. I knot youre just trolling, but id rather be in charge of my server than have to beg customer service guys to do something i could do myself in seconds. As i said, took more of your time to make this thread and send ticket than to log into your server and create the 3 accts. are you dedicated or virtual? |
Quote:
That's why i said he can post his own screenshots. |

I use more than 5 hosts for my network, I am surprised you have to email to get an email acct set up. Now you can continue with your immature behavior because i didnt do anything wrong, webair is not the only host i use, want me to plug them all? LOL I didnt link them or spam them, ai am genuinely surprised as I have set up all my own emails for years figured this was standard lol |
Quote:
It's a dedicated server. It's not cheap. If i wanted a control panel i would have gone for some $50/month host. |
Fletch I know I use techie for doing it all for me. I know they would give me a control panel if I asked, I just never wanted it and would much rather just send in tickets to get anything done. Some people really do not want to deal with it nor be in charge of their servers - plus no one has to beg for anything with them.

Its cool, really, i dont know what kind of door i opened here lol but i was just surprised that you had to email to have that done. hope it all works out then man, i wasnt saying anything negative about you or techie, just surprised you needed to email to have it done... |

I'll get me popcorn ready too :pimp |
Quote:
Why can't email accounts contain @ ? You never explained, just said that "Sorry, but login can't contain @. " I have it on other hosts, and it works fine. Am I an asshole for asking to have something set up they way i'm used to? |
Quote:
What did i say that offended so many here? geez... you got people spam hosts all day, I mentioned "email is easy" and sand flies in everyones vaginas? LOL |

Davey Jones isn't asking for two @'s in an email address. He's simply asking for his email login/username to contain the full email address which isn't that abnormal, get with it people.

I posted a screenshot too. (which Jim says is photoshoped, but won't post his own screenshot) The whole thing is pretty stupid though. I didn't come here bashing them or anything, I just asked that long ticked times were the norm (cause I just moved there). And in return they call me a liar. http://www.darksidedata.com/rolleyes.gif |

I was just pointing out that not everyone does want to control it all or do it all. I too know how to set up emails, add domain names, etc. I just no longer want to nor wish to do so. I like that they will handle it all for me and get it done without question. I just see them as another extension of my business - like another employee and when I need something done in that department I just say do it and they do their job. It allows me to not micro manage everything. |
Techie Media has always answered my tickets and finished them in minutes, and I have submitted quite a bit, some pretty complex. I also consider myself to be a "high maintenance" customer and they always go above and beyond to take care of an issues that arise.
The best host I've been with in a LONG time. |
Quote:
I just wan't my POP3 account login info look like this: email: [email protected] POP3 Login: [email protected] POP3 Password: 123456 The way they first set it up is totally retarded. Username looked like this: contacts_doma (where 'doma' is hald the domain name) Looks messy, stupid and hard to remember. So i asked nicely if they could do the other way. They said no? |
Quote:
The only reason I posted in this thread, was becuse last night I explained to my brother how emails work and how easy it is to set up on your own server etc... he wanted "[email protected]" he asked me if it would cost him extra for each email, I laughed, "no man..." so the topic was fresh on my brain so i mentioned how quick and painless it was/is to set up your own emails. Fact remains, I can create an email @ my domain faster than opening support ticket lol I meant no harm and didnt call anyones mom a whore, even if she is!!! |

For $300/month for a 10mbps server they can't figure out how to set up emails? http://www.darksidedata.com/rolleyes.gif |

I can't post the full ticket log because i'm working from a tiny ass 10" computer right now. So I posted start date and end date (4 hrs later, still being opened) But Jim wanted to post his version of the ticket. Where is it? |
Quote:
If I were Jim I'd format your box, send you a refund, and ignore you. |
Quote:
You didn't just ask if they had ICQ support, you implied they were a subpar host for not having it....and yet today, someone from Techie sent you an ICQ message and you're still on here bitching. You're the one who doesn't know how to format a fucking email address and then came in here and lied about the whole thing to create controversy. I've known Jim for alot of years and he's not a liar...if he said you're not telling the truth about the ticket, then you're not telling the truth about the ticket. |
