Owner Of TapOut Dead
Well that's what TMZ is reporting.
TapouT Owner Dies in Horrific Ferrari Crash Posted Mar 11th 2009 3:12PM by TMZ Staff TMZ has confirmed the owner of the TapouT MMA clothing line died this morning when his ultra-rare $300,000 Ferrari crashed into a light pole, ripping the car in half. TMZ has learned Charles Lewis Jr. -- aka "Mask" -- was driving his Ferrari Modena in Orange County, Calif. around 1:00 AM this morning when cops say it "left the roadway, hit the curb, took out a light pole." "Mask" was declared dead at the scene. A female passenger -- who was ejected from the crash -- was taken to a local hospital, but we're told she's in bad shape. Cops believe "Mask" was racing a guy in a Porsche at the time of the crash, and authorities have since arrested the guy they believe was driving the other car. That man -- Jeffrey David Kirby -- is being held on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter. |
Hence the reason you are a dumb ass mother fucker if you drive those speeds on a public road. If you don't manage to kill yourself but rather someone else.. You will go to jail for life.
Much cheaper just to rent a track and keep the racing where it should be. |
Thankfully no innocent bystanders were killed.
Isn't he one of those dumb clown fuckers that dresses up at every UFC like it's WWF or some shit? Man I couldn't fucking stand that guy, and that was just on TV.
Stupidity at its best
sucks when your ego gets you killed.
what an idiot. it's sad, he finally made it and then kills himself. tragic.
One last idiot on the road, fucking douche bags that race cars.
So uh... Porsche IS better than Ferrari then?
:-| |
Sad day for MMA. It's not known if they were racing, only that the Porsche crashed into the Ferrari. I'm sad either way.
Charles was an ambassador for MMA. He supported MMA back in the dark ages, when it was being banned State to State. He sponsored and helped keep food on fighter's tables so they could chase their dream. His passing is a massive blow to MMA, it's fighters and fans. Rest in peace. |
what a fucking idiot - sad that we don't get at least one do over mulligan in life but i have a feeling a guy like this would have just done the same thing again.
Who says natural selection is dead?

Fucking brilliant guy there. RIP anyway.
Very sad day for MMA indeed... one of the veterans. RIP, Mask

Here's what a Ferrari Modena looks like. I don't know what he had.

Rough crowd in here... :Oh crap
Sad. But you shouldn't joyride on public streets. :(
terrible way to go
Fuck, I promoted a MMA show back in '99 with Dan Severn and some shady ass pro wrestling promoter, back when they had to try and pass it off as a pro wrestling show so it could be held, and I remember seeing those crazy fuckers back then. They used to sell the Tapout stuff out of the backs of their cars and were really the only sponsor guys could collect a paycheck from. Now you see their stuff in Foot Locker in the mall. They really built that company up from nothing...
My sympathies to his family, but what a bonehead way to go out. I'm sure we've all done things on the roadways that were regrettable, but to take it to that level- where a lightpole rips your car in half- is pretty wreckless.
like anthony said, the tapout guys have done a lot for the sport..
sad day for mma... |

Tragic and sad news.
RIP |
Weird.. it reads as if the ferrari was driving him, not the other way around. Whats up with that?
edit: I meant to express my condolences to friends and family :( |

Come on.. that's not a manslaughter charge. The guy in the Ferrari made a choice to race. His fault, period. .. also not sure what kind of lamp-post that is.. they're supposed to break-away. |

Sometimes the maldistribution of wealth in this country turns out to be a good thing by accelerating natural selection.

Damn, cars do not split in half like that unless you are doing some serious speed.
http://www.ktla.com/video/?autoStart...ipId=35346 14 It was as stupid ass fucking thing to do. Charles brought TAPOUT from selling out the back of his car, to 100 Million Dollar company last year. What a shitty way to go. RIP |

That car is shredded. Guaranteed that car was traveling in excess of 100 mph. No way it was torn apart like that doing the speed limit on that road. Wow. |
he is a testimonial in the new anthony roberts tv commercial
To much power for a guy... Sad it had to finish with death
i feel bad for him and his family and friends - dying before your time is a tragedy.
BUT fuck these idiots who think public streets are acceptable for racing and gross speeding - how many fucking times have I read or seen in the last 5 or so years news stories where innocent people have been killed or seriously injured by these morons - and it is all small cock syndrome. i'd throw them in jail for 20 years no parole for any serious injury and put them in jail for life where a death occurred because of their actions. |
wow that car was fucked. amazing anyone lived through that
car is obliterated.. crazy stuff

i love those douchebags who goto one class of mma and then get all tapout gear.
then they can tell all their friends "ya man i do mma" |
It seems that for some people. the more money they have the dumber they are.
that sucks
Thank fucking god, maybe we'll see less 90 lbs losers in TapOut gear thinking they're hard.
we need more jail time for racing losers.
