ATTN HOSTS: I need competitive price on a new Managed box...

I've had a managed server over at LayeredTech (through Servstra.com) for 46 months...actually, on the 15th of March, it will be 47 months.

But a few days ago I rec'd a message saying they're moving my server from Savvis to Databank, and I'll be losing all my IPs. The move is non-negotiable, I have no choice in the matter, and I am less than pleased.

SO... I'm looking for a new managed box.

My current setup @ $170/mo is:
=======================================
Processor #1 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz
Processor #2 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz
2GB RAM
(x2) 160GB SATA drives
1500 GB/Month -- (I only use about 100-150GB though)
cPanel
Managed 24/7/365 -- (Reactive - Support Ticket System) -- (poor/slow service though) -- (offshore techs)
Root/Shell Access
(x5) IPs
Automatic Weekly Backups
=======================================

I want similar hardware specs as those listed above, but I want much better quality management services. I am willing to pay a little more, but not a ton.

I already have a $200 server at NationalNet (and I'm extremely pleased with them), but I would really prefer this new box to have cPanel - and NatNet doesn't offer that.

So I'm calling out to NakedHosting, Webair, TechieMedia, Caro, PhatServers, PacificRack, etc, etc... who can hook me up with a fair deal?

Please let me know: host -AT- xsaxs -DOT- com

~Jason

TidalWave 03-12-2009 01:25 AM

P.S. All our support is 100% local and in-house. Not even remote some place else in the USA. All our staff works right out of datacenter building/offices!

Available by telephone and ticket system 24/7.

I had to throw in a word of support because you guys really do come through with consistent good support, middle of the night, whenever, and very good to deal with and I've always felt you guys go beyond fair when I've had to make some changes.... really been a pleasure to deal with in the last year that I have had a server with you. :2 cents:

a couple of other hosting companies that I also have hosting with that I should mention as great people too are phatservers.com and pdghosting.com (canadian)

Oracle Porn 03-12-2009 01:41 AM

you will get more then at at webair for that price, fast support either live/ticket/phone whatever you prefer :) take a look at webair before you decide on your next host... :)

thank me later :)

ExLust 03-12-2009 01:50 AM

XSAXS 03-12-2009 09:27 AM

Hey guys thank you for your responses. I really do appreciate it, and I am impressed with your fast replies.

I will be out of the office until about 3pm today, but I will be in touch with each of you after that. Thanks again, and if anyone else has a quote/offer...please send it over.

BTW... judging from the quick action I've seen in this thread, it's no wonder you all have such glowing reviews on the forums. Looking forward to working with you.

Hi Jason - I just shot over an email with an offer for a dedicated server with us here at CaveCreek. Let me know what you think. :thumbsup

Two P4 3GHz CPUs? Is that actually a Pentium D (single CPU)? Trippy!

TidalWave 03-12-2009 03:20 PM

You sir are a troll, a moron and basically the Village Idiot here. Those guys have been around for like 12+ years and are known and respected as one of the very best hosts on the net, and the only negative comment about them is from you, and you only hosted with them for like a few hours.......LOL what a total useless ass clown.:2 cents:

peedy 03-12-2009 07:35 PM

I can vouch for the following:

Caro.net (currently with)
thePlanet.com

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 03-12-2009 07:37 PM

just want to throw a word in for phatservers support. i've been across 3 different companies with dedicated hosts, and they are by far the most impressive support and price i've found. they get the job done fast when you need something done. even on awkward all night webmaster workschedules...

Likewise. :thumbsup

XSAXS 03-13-2009 12:05 AM

For the record, I just chose the host I'm going to use. I want to thank everyone who submitted quotes to me. I researched every offer/company, and while it was very difficult to decide, I think I've chosen the best team for the job.

Also... after carefully looking into each of these companies, I believe every host who submitted a quote to me is running a top-quality service. So for anyone looking for hosting... I don't think you could go wrong with any of these guys:

Techie Media
PacificRack
PhatServers
CaveCreek
Webair

And just to make it complete... don't forget NationalNet. They are about the best you'll find anywhere, they just weren't in the running for this particular server.

Thank you again guys. :)

Techie Media 03-13-2009 08:30 AM

Jayson once again I truly thank you for allowing us to be considered in your original list of potential hosts. Now I really thank you for choosing us and look forward to working with you for many years to come. Welcome to the Techie Family.:pimp

bash 03-13-2009 08:39 PM

Hey bro you made a great choice and you were right some of the hosts you talked to were very decent, but IMHO you picked the best.:2 cents::thumbsup
