Say a friend of mine got bored with the regular dispatch frequencies and wanted to mod his or her scanner so that it would pick up the vice unit and street teams.....

Search the interwebs for you exact model. There's bound to be some forum somewhere full of people who mess with such things. I remember coming across a forum on universal remotes that was just nuts with people doing unreal things with universal remotes, lmfao.

jump onto youtube and see what some people have been doing with the Wii-mote if you want to see some crazy shit.

but ya, i'd just search for some scanner forums, there's bound to be at least one authority forum full of techgeeks who can help you along.
