anyone know where i can find a backlink checker? something that checks a list of sites i provide for my link?

Visit Yahoo Site Explorer for up to 1,000 backlinks for individual pages and use Tattler in conjunction with the aforementioned.

Also you can sign up for Google Webmaster Tools for free. They only update about every 30 days but there are a lot of great tools including a backlink checker.
